Would Garm give 4 or 2 tokens to a Pelta with the title equipped?

Pheonix Home says you "can be assigned up to 4 command tokens instead of a number of tokens equal to your command value"

Garm says when he triggers each friendly ship "may gain a number of command tokens equal to its command value".

I would say that Pheonix Home can take the full 4, but I could see an argument for Garm only tossing 2 as that is the Pelta's command value. My thinking is that the wording on Pheonix Home accounts for the specificity in Garm's text, but I'd like to see if thats the consensus.

What is the command value of Phoenix one? That would be 2.

All this means is it can take more tokens on board turn 1.

Garm does exactly what it says on the card: gives the Pelta tokens equal to its command value, which is 2 regardless of whether the Phoenix Home title is in play or not.

All P.H. does is allow the ship to store more tokens than usual. It has however no bearing on how these tokens are gained .

We assume we max out on Garm Tokens, and we technically do, but its because command values equals token amounts for everyone but Phoenix Home...

All those things were my thoughts when I first saw people going gaga over the pelta and garm, but when I read Pheonix Home it feels like it was almost worded the way it was to account for Garm. I guess I'm just looking at this weird. But its that the card says instead of that tripped me.

The story definitely continues...I don't think you understand my sheer foolishness from the Plane of the Dead. FFG will FAQ this so that Garm will give Phoenix Home the four tokens it deserves. It doesn't matter that it makes sense at all. Just like Gunnery Teams neuters Advanced Gunnery, and XI7 kills the Advanced Projectors, The phoenix home will give Garm the love. All of you Non-Garm-believers will shudder when FFG issues the ruling...You have been warned...

I actually don't care if the change it so Garm gives 4 tokens. What will you do turn 1? You can only choose 2 speeds, so a Nav command is meh. No point in squad command because you won't be in range to attack. Eng is a waste since you have no damage. And you have nothing to attack for CF.

So great, you have 4 tokens round 1 and nothing to do with them. Round 5 you can do stuff, but now you are paying for a commander to net you a 1 time buff near the end of the game if your Pelta is still around. So go ahead and think it is great to start with 4 tokens. You aren't gaining much with it and it goes against the RRG which makes you a blasphemer.

I have another question regarding Garm and Phoenix Home and didn't see it answered anywhere in the threads:

I agree that Garm only assigns 2 tokens in round1 to a Pelta with the Phoenix Home title, but let's say we are starting round 5 and Garm is handing out tokens again. If the Pelta still happens to have 2 tokens on it, will Garm still give it 2 more tokens since it can hold 4, or since there are already enough tokens equal to the command value that Garm won't issue any more?

It gets 2 tokens, regardless of how many tokens it currently has.

Your command value is 2. It doesn't say to gain tokens until you reach your command value. Even under normal circumstances, if you have command 2 and 2 tokens, you can swap them out for new ones when Garm pops if you want to.

Well, with its special upgrade slot I think is not useless at all. Add Ashoka and you can entramp every round without waste a single command dial on it.

Just theorycrafting. I am not rebel and I didn't play against a Pelta yet.

And adding some stuff that could help CNinja full his Pelta without raping the rules: Tantive IV. Maybe you won't get the 4 tokens but you will kave 3 and a dial to add the last one.
