PSA: Rogue v. Rouge

By Eggzavier, in Star Wars: Armada

Hey there everyone, since it appears we aren't getting an article today (fingers crossed), I decided it might be time to re-formulate a community guide to properly identifying various shades of rogues and various shades of rouges.

We have had this discussion in the past, but I figured it would be appropriate to do so again with the upcoming release of "Rogue One; A Star Wars Story".

So, without further ado:

This is a Rogue:

This is Rouge:

This is Rogue One (presumably) (also presumably wearing some rouge):

This is Rouge One (definitely wearing rouge):

This is Rogue Leader (and friends):

This is Rouge Leader (sans friends):

This has been a test of our community announcements services.

Please have a good day.

You can now return to your regularly scheduled programming.

Being dyslexic I've made this mistake before to Hilarious results. When typing fast mistakes happen but truly knowing the difference can save a lot of face, or just cover it up with some Rouge you Rogue.

Maybe the next community style guide can cover formatting images to non-ridiculous sizes.

Clearly someone else can present that guide.

You're doing the Lord's work, Eggzavier.

Itonically, I'm pretty sure Rogue One is in fact wearing some rouge.

Does it matter that much, just remember some people first language may not be English. Do you know what they mean? If so who cares.

Thank's Exar for your attention on the fact that it's not everyone on the forum who the first language is english. For example... me. My first language is french (Québec, Canada) but when I write in english I try my best to avoid bad writing.

One thing is sure, misspelling Rogue One seems to be comming from somewhere else. When FFG released the Rogues and Vilains pack, some persons where already misspelling it in this forum and I was asking myself if I was missing something. Why Rouge and not Rogue? :P

Rouge in french mean the red color. That's funny. ;)

Can you respect their country and speak their language, this shows your lack of understanding (ie empathy) and ignorance to the word outside your own country. Wasn't the US built on those principals, I wonder what Jefferson, Lincoln or Washington would think about the country they founded now?

Well, we could have an interesting discussion about this, but it would probably cause the thread to get locked. (But PM is always fine. ;) )

At any rate, it reads like you're not picking up on the irony in the image I posted.

Just read the sign, "RESPECT ARE COUNTRY" just got the humour, that's a good one.

I don't think this photo should represent what all the american's think of people outside america! And I personaly think this photo was made for fun.

Yes, some of them have no concern about what's going on the planet and could think that in Canada we only have snow, montains, Montréal Canadian hockey club and Inuit (North Amerindian) but every country have closed mind peoples. Here in Canada too. You could ask Dras about this!

Is that because I'm close minded?

I try not to stereotype, I generally think there are great people everywhere, except for certain minorities who make the most noise... Hey here in Oz we have some really awesome people, but hate to say, some of the worst ignorant people I have ever met, who know it all and have no education (or a minimal at best). I am not perfect, no one is, so have tolerance for your fellows, they may not speak our awesome language as a primary, that's cool, at least they are trying, so try not to mind the little rogue things (sorry just had to)...

Wish you all the best! Just remember we are a community, so treat each other as you want to be treated (for me that is Humanly and with respect).

The original post here was made in an effort to be funny.

No disparagement, just highlighting a community topic in a humerous way.

Clearly we should have had an article today.

Blame FFG.

I feel really bad, as I honestly thought it was having a go at people.. Guess I should start hoping for the best.

Agreed with article, where is my light cruiser!!!!!

Yellow everyone. The other day I was running a Rouge squadron, butt my opponent blue it before it even got to shoot. :D

Yep, I went there! I just spent 2 hours with the boy scout troop. Potty humor is kind of a staple of the younger boys. We are all products of our environments.

Ummm, ouch? And a fellow Scouter? Dad humour is expected I guess.

Is that because I'm close minded?

Dras! How could you think this with all the respect you diserve?

I meant that you maybe saw some example of closed mind in our wonderfull country (even if Canada is supposed to be a land of comprehension and integration) ;)

By the way, Eggz, don't worry, your topic is just fine and funny.

I see the comments in this thread have gone rouge almost immediately.
