Also, what are the rules for it?
Anyone know the size of the dust field?
Green Knight did a ballpark estimate for Vassal. He'd be the best one to tell you that. As for rules, it blocks all ship fire that traces line of sight through it. So if you park a ship in there, it's effectively immune to ship to ship fire (and also isn't shooting at anyone in return). Squadrons can fire through it, but their shots count as obstructed as usual.
...and so far, no penalty for landing on one either...
I would assume you'll have to reduce your speed by 1. Meaning it could be quite an advantage.

Why would you assume that?
Doesn't it state no overlap effect, just the block shooting thing?
In our earlier previews of The Corellian Conflict, we looked at its campaign and its squadron cards. But in addition to these—and the new objectives that we're exploring in today's preview—The Corellian Conflict also introduces six obstacle tokens, including two new dust field tokens.

The dust field is a new type of obstacle that prevents ships from performing any attacks that would trace line of sight across the token. Squadrons can attack through a dust field, but their attacks are obstructed.
I think they are about 6'long 1'wide

Wow! That's the length of the whole board!
New House Rule: Upon one-shotting a capital ship, add one dust field to within distance one of that ship's previous location.

I've played this in STAW. Dead ship leaves debris. First shot through debris is obstructed and then debris removed from tables. Makes big turkey-shoot games goofy.

I would assume that your ship gets very dusty.

Please tell me you mean 6"x1" not 6'x1'

No shooting... FOR ANYONE!!!
