Multiple big ships
He reminds me more to another guy that was in the forums several months ago, that complained that his brother and he couldn't manage to kill each other ships after hours of playing. He also had a Warhammer background that always brought into the conversation.
Many thought that he was a troll, but in the end I think it was another case of person that didn't care about reading the rules, follow them, or perhaps that he didn't just have mental ability to do it.
Broken grammar, total disregard for punctuation, and phonetic spelling was also a common trait.
As a new thing, this one mentions that following the rules and using upgrades and Boost/Barrel rolls or the pilot abilities translate into having a Win at all cost attitude, and that because of that, he's not into tournament play.
Not even our resident "play for fun, play at home" zealot Joe Boss is that extreme.
My bet is that he just wants to play by moving ships around and doing "pew pew" with his mouth, and the rules and the cards annoy him as something beyond his understanding. But the game isn't as fun after a while when you just push ships around, and he demands to know why.
You mean this thread? Same guy.

No, it was someone posting like almost one year ago. Cannot remember his name anymore.

But it is, I used the Junkyard rules (damage = upgrade cards, usable next turn only) for a multiplayer game, each guy took 1 single ship and we see who can reach 300 points of kills first. Was hilarious as is. Each time you got killed you could swap to another ship.

Found him! It was Frogy84.
I cannot click his name, so I guess it's a banned account?
His posts mention all the time a brother, WH40k rules, and show really broken grammar, and total disrespect for the game rules.
I wonder if they are the same guy. They have even the same year in their names.
Perhaps it's the brother?
The similarities are striking...
I'm just surprised in the amount of help given, even if in the end it does turn out to be a troll account. Very commendable. Makes me look like a cynical jerk.
Why the hell would the y wing not have a standard turret.
What ever it has a turret idk why ffg wouldn't let it have one but that just dumb
The idea behind this is really more....why would you NOT take a Turret on a Y-wing. With so many turret options, there is always a good Turret to take. I don't see it as a penalty for the Y-wing that it doesn't automatically get a turret. I see it more that it's a BONUS that it can take ANY turret. So, one example is the Ion Turret Cannon. It's a really useful Turret. It can also take a super cheap turret, as well.
If you look at the mini, it has a turret on it, but that means it can take one. It also has 2 guns on the front nose, as well. The base attack is just for the front nose guns. The turret on the ship is usually there because why would you not ever take at least a super cheap turret on the ship?
I guess am just interpretation rules wrong our there meaning like to me a y wing has a turret already

This is where I suggest going back to basics with the rulebook. Do not look at the model for rules, look at the card. The Y-wing has a turret icon as shown below.
This means that it can purchase a turret upgrade, not that it has one fitted by default.
If you want a ship that has a built-in turret, then look at the Millenium Falcon. This has the large circular arrow around the base to indicate that it can fire 360-degrees without needing to purchase further upgrades to do so.
What we need is an X-Wing rules examination that presents different scenarios and asks what the proper interpretation is. Then we can accurately assess how well a new player understands the rules.

After reading (or trying to) his last thread and now this thread, I'm pretty convinced this guy is trolling.

Like a tutorial in a computer game - would be handy! Though FFG's original video guides were helpful, when you're trying to understand the latest Attani or ARC list, it gets a little confusing just from regional battle reports without seeing which cards are triggering what effect.
Regardless if this was a troll thread or not - I just wanted to pop in here and thank you (and others!) for taking the time to detail in one place Dash, turrets, and secondary weapon rules etc. I'm still learning and found the posts in this thread very helpful

I'd almost say its another Ribann account, but he has responded too many times for it to be him.
