Force Rating Increase

By HIDragonstar, in Star Wars: Force and Destiny RPG

Aloha,

I was just curious...I am wondering how crossing into another Talent Tree works and I want to make sure this is allowed.

When crossing into Talent Trees, you are allowed to use a Talent from another tree to cross over and upgrade from that point, or do you have to go from the bottom of the tree.

For Example:

Take a Seeker (Hunter)

He takes Expert Tracker -> Hunter -> Uncanny Senses

Then goes to Force Sensitive Exile (from EoE)

Can he go to the bottom of the tree and take Uncanny Senses -> Force Rating -> Dedication

Another Example

A Sentinel (Shadow)

Code Breaker -> Grit

Sentinel (Shien Expert)

Grit at Middle -> Saber Throw

You would have to start from your 5pt level again and work your way down, following the branches. However, if you have a single purchase talent, like Saber Throw, you can skip over it when buying in other trees.

No, there is no skipping to the middle of trees. Every Specialization you take requires you to start at the top (the 5 xp talents) and work your way down, following the normal path of the trees.

If two trees of yours have the same NON-ranked talent that you've already purchased, you may skip it once you reach it by buying down the tree. So, for instance, if you had the Ataru Striker tree and you buy Quick Draw at the top for 5 xp, when you subsequently but Force-Sensitive Exile, you must first buy the rank of Uncanny Reactions at the top, but can then skip buying Quick Draw again for another 10 xp (because you already have it, and get no additional benefit from it) and go straight to Touch of Fate.

Ranked talents, however, do not work this way. You must always buy Ranked talents (such as Uncanny Reactions/Senses; Grit/Toughened, Codebreaker, etc.) in the trees, as you will always gain a benefit from them.

I am certain that Absol197 knows quite well what the original quote is.

Given that FFG’s SWRPG is a very narrative game, but a lot of people tend to get hung up on game mechanics, I’m certain that she intentionally modified the quote and appropriately attributed it to “Jedi Game Master Yoda”, not “Jedi Master Yoda”.

Brad got it in one ;) . Although the intention was that the original quote be attributed to "Jedi Grand Master Yoda," so that there'd be even a bit more overlap.

But sometimes I think I'm more clever than I am :) .
