Quick Rebel Transports scheme

By AegisGrimm, in Star Wars: Armada Painting and Modification

When I got into Armada I made a simple vow between my wife and I, especially as I am buying both Rebs and Imps for home games.

Rule #1:. No. Painting. Squadrons!

I've been gaming for 20 years, and I knew if I started painting all those squadrons, I would never get them more than partway done, as NOW I am working arou d two children. But both flotillas? Those are just inexcusably boring. Bad, bad FFG.

So here's a quick and dirty pair of Reb Transports. I went low-tech, and used a toothpick's point to scratch off the red after it dried, after I realized the paint really didn't adhere well to the stock paintjobs.

Done and Done. Good for me, and a decent effect to boot!

Also, Boo Painting Squadrons.

Even if you don't want to, I'm sure there are people out there who will do it for you for a great rate :D

No, I had to draw the line somewhere ;) , despite what I would love to do. My "to do" list keeps growing faster than it goes down, lol. I usually paint my figure fully before they ever hit the table, and with 3-4 genres of wargames that need such painting, Armada is my guilty pleasure that doesn't need attention before I game with it.

My hard and firm rule is detailing on ship-sized models only, like the unpainted windows and launch bay openings like on the Gladiator.
