By Rakaydos, in X-Wing

Alright, got my revised cards together finally.

Same as before, but discard instead of flip.

No longer gives evades on red maneuvers. It gives a non-action barrel roll instead. Powerful maneuverability buff, no longer a survivability buff.

A survivability buff in the same ace pack. Use large base barrel rolls (side of the 1 straight template, so no sliding at all), but resist Ion and Tractor weaponry, and increase raw durability. Still allows Bwing E2 or Integrated Weapon Platform.

Dropped to 0 points. this means that...

Tractor, Flechette, Ion: Free, damage drop trading for utility

Mangler cannon: 1 point, ignore long range penalty, turn 1 hit into crit

Autoblaster: 2 point, range 1 damage drop for the ability to ignore evasion. Does not benifit from GSS.

HLC: 4 point, +1 attack die (on par with Expose/Opportunist), ignore long range penalty.

Extra Munitions: not free - only really useful with Advanced torps

Seismic Torps: Not free .

Flechette: Free utility torp

Plasma torp: Free, trading TL for +1 attack die, with anti-shield utility on hit.

Proton Torp: 1 point, trading TL for +1 attack die, limited self focusing

Ion torp: 2 points, AoE utility torp, full damage to primary target ion weapon.

Advanced torp: 3 point, trading TL for +1 attack die, can turn all dice to hits+ with TL+Focus.

CBC: 3 points, 1 shot anti-low agility cannon.

I feel these prices match up with what they offer the Bwing, but will need playtesting to see if 3 HLC Bwings + Bwing is OP or not.

And finally, a 3rd ace. I'm sure he'll fit in fine.

Revised the original post with the more recent cards posted.

Got a round of stress testing in over vassal, with 0 cost IWP for triple hlc blues plus blue.

Opponent was a k4 ketsu shadowcaster with a razi Ventress, both PTL boost.

My dice were fairly hot- an opening plasma torpedo rolled 4 natural hits- and his were decidedly not, rolling multiple 1 hit attacks on 3 and 4 dice. He had a bit of trouble with focus fire, too.

I only used the one torpedo, but I had a good mix of ion and tractor fire, ilcludind an ionization of ventress that set up a double range one primary. (That ketsu boosted around to turn into 1 primary and a bump)

Despite my advantages, the first bwing went down before Ketsu did. With asaj at 7 life against bwings at 4, 5, and 6 life, 2 of which had tractors and 2 with hlcs, my opponent surrendered.

I feel my victory was reasonable, not simply an artifact of cheap HLCs... though they did help.

Another playtest, this time with GSS Aces- VI Ibtisan with FCS, Adaptability Keyan with FCS, and Ten with A Score to Settle. 2 point bid.

This was the version of the title I used:

bgGtZCP.jpg

Opponent was a Fin/Rey/Kanan, PTL with the OLD evade title, supported by a Lothal with Hera, FCS, and Zeb. He would prioritize focus fire over using his ship's combo- Fin/Rey never got used, despite a few opportunities.

Keyan and Ibtisan LOVED being able to red while keeping their abilities active. Without an ion cannon (I didnt want to introduce TWO powerful-looking custom cards to random vassal person at once) Ten was still struggling, but AStS made him target #1 anyway.

I won, but I feel it was due to my opponent failing t use his cards to even a fraction of their potential. I might raise the title to 2 points and give it some more buffs- more points means less generic abuse, but need to offer more to overcosted aces.

(Personal opinion)Should make the Integrated weapons platform allow for double taps with secondary cannon weapons.

What's the point of equipping two cannons if you only get to fire once per round? This is an assault fighter, designed to destroy capital ships, it should be able to deal as much damage as possible in one pass right?

Some stipulations though:

"Once per round, after performing a secondary cannon weapon attack, you may perform another attack with a different secondary cannon weapon. You may not perform the second attack if both cannon upgrades have a squad point cost greater than or equal to 6."

Would prevent HLC/CBC double taps, and other things of that nature, since the reduction of points makes Double HLC attacks for 8 points a little to cost efficient. (which is why I would like it restricted)

Still allows for thematic build (auto blaster/Ion cannon) and something a little more tournament worthy (HLC/Tractor comes to mind, open up with Tractor, reduce agility, deal damage with HLC).

If you wantdd double tapping cannons at LEAST one would have to be under 4 points. No way you should be able to double tap mangler and hlc or cbc

You're right, I forgot about mangler... thankfully FFG did not when making the Defender titles.

New versionof title, gonna need testing.

Bumping this with a new first post.
