So there has been alot of talk about what the unannounced Xwing Expansion is. A lot of people think it is some how tied into the upcoming Rogue One movie. I tend to agree with this, but we really have no idea. So here is the point of this thread. If you could choose any subject matter for the expansion, what would it be? Anything from the old EU or the new canon is acceptable. Anything goes as far as new game mechanics or modes. Once you determine what you really, really want and list it, then think about what you feel will be the most likely thing that it really might be. Please give the reasons why you feel like it will be whatever you pick. Please feel free to list several of each options. I'll go first.

I really hope that SWX58 is:

1. A compatible 1/270 scale ground combat game that is its own mode like Epic. I think that the general consensus of approval for this idea(I know some don't agree) and the obvious amount of ground combat in Rogue One make this a good possibility.

or

2. There Star Jewel (Jabba's ship) as the Scum Epic. Scum needs an Epic Ship. Jabba should be in the game.

or

3. The announcement of a 4th faction - Aliens and Allies(or some other name) that showcases the other Governmental entities(Chiss Ascendency, Hapes Consortium, Corporate Sector Authority, CorSec, etc) and Aliens - hostile or otherwise(Ssi-ruu Empire, Yeveetha, etc) that don't easily fall into Scum. Allow mixing of factions in non tournament games. I just want the ships from these factions.

or

4.The Gunboat. Alot of people really want it and FFG would make alot of money making it.(way more than Sabine's Tie, am I right?)

I really think that SWX58 will be:

1. A new Rogue One Core Set. It will include the fabled Xwing fix along with the new t65 paint scheme from the movie and two new ties. There will be new Tie pilots that will make a tie swarm good again. I feel like this is likely due to past experience(see The Force Awakens core set when that movie came out) and that the Tie swarm has gotten a little stale of late.

or

2. That stupid(I feel) Croc Gonzati from Star Wars Rebels as the long awaited Scum Epic. I feel like this is likely because a)it is a ship from Disney's new show and B) it fits the much needed and requested Scum Epic slot. It could include cards that help the Epic game become better for all factions.

So what do you think?

More than likely its a Rogue One themed kit for T65s (seeing as the T70s got some love but T65s somehow didnt get anything despite a relevant movie coming out) or a scum huge.

Either would be fine by me.

I'd be surprised if its a starter box, which including t65 and ties would basically mean that.

TIE/ln really doesnt need any help. T65 needs a fair bit of it. Weve already had 1 pack with two of the same ship (imp aces) so another isnt unlikely.

I mean, they could slap Ywings or Awings in there but i doubt it. Ywings could use a little help too tbh, theyre literally just gold squad tlt users atm.

My money would be on Strikers.

Though I'm not convinced it's R1 content. It's not like they've kept the U wing or TIE striker a secret (like they did with the T-70 and TIE/FO). It could potentially be another failed product launch that we'll never see. Anyone remember the Star Field Tiles? If it is R1 themed, it might be a playmat. If it's background was a spoiler for the movie, it would make sense that it wasn't revealed yet.

Hoping for either Scum ace pack or Scum Epic with Star Jewel.

I am hoping it is an expansion with a T-65. I believe it is a canceled product like the star field tiles.

99.9% believe there is 0 chance it will be a "starter set"

80% chance it's a Rouge One related release featuring an X or Y wing of some kind

20% chance its something other than an X-Wing or Y-Wing.

I hope for a ground assault core, if not that then give me scum epic. I'd be okay with a U-wing and two striker core set as well as it'd probably be a cheaper way to grab those ships. Extreme end I wouldn't mind if Sabine steals a defender and they give us a rebel defender with Sabine. It would outrage so many people especially with the title, they could cost it at 50 points and I'd fly it.

I think it is either: 1) nothing but a troll code at this point that FFG laughs about every time it comes up. 2) a core set with partisan x-wing, 2 strikers and an attempted x-wing fix. Or 3) a core set with a U-wing and 2 strikers. I think a scum epic is a slim possibility as well.

Playmats don't have the SWX designation.

This could be a great tie-in to the Star Tours ride and grab a pretty good cross-section of collectors, thus raising awareness of the game further.

LIKELY: Nothing - a non-starter of a product that they are going to let us speculate on for the next three years before Alex Davy makes some offhand remark in an unrelated interview that it never came to pass.

Think it will be rogue one related, either a new core set, or the t65 fix in a veterans/partisan pack.

I don't think Rebel Vets will be released any time in the near future. HoTR was Rebel version of Imperial Vets.
