I feel bad for the Assault variant of the ship.

With so much fun stuff in this expansion, I'll have to get two of these guys.

Anyone get the point prediction correct with these two?

Why feel bad for the Assault? Synergizes well with Sato, being able to throw black dice at long range and having a black crit effect to boot. No dice modification, but still. Plus the flak on it is absolutely deadly. It's a good way to get the Fleet Command upgrades for a few less points if you're not exclusively pushing squads with it. Or put the All Fighters boost on it and just have the Squad token to burn for someone else to boost their squads. I love the assault version.

And yes, I'll be getting two.

I feel bad for it because the other variant is just 4 points more. Sure, it loses the extra damage vs squadrons, but I'd rather have the extra squadron rating and blues on the attack. Maybe we'll see a few lists that focus on just capitals and foregoes the squadrons, thus favoring the assault variant.

Or the fact that the Ordnance Upgrade in the pack wasn't Shown, and is thusly, exclusive to the Assault version....

I think Sato will increase the prevalence of armament modification cards.

Throw H9s and Spinals on a Battle Cruiser. Long range attack pool becomes 1 black, 1 blue (to acc scatter) and 4 reds.

Throw on gunnery team, and you have a pretty formidable flotilla killer.

All B-Wings Follow Me

With FCTs from a nearby ship shifting them forwards before the squadron commands. Who needs independence now?

Your three speed B-wings are fast but my 6 speed A-Wings are faster.

A maximum of speed 5...

Flight Coordinators baby

Hm... Home One and a Pelta. Makes me wonder if an aura fleet would be viable.

Rebels could run a fleet with Auto-accuracy, auto-psuedo nav tokens, auto-shield regen.

What do you guys think about Engine Techs on the Pelta? Personally, I like it, especially with that double click speed one. Great for a Madine list in my opinion, where you may not be relying so much on tokens.

I think when it comes down to it it will be points bloated as it is.

Its only Bloated if its not getting stuff done.

in a way... the low cost for the pelta makes it very balanced. All players will want to cram in as many upgrades and officers as possible. The low durability of the ship will make it very susceptible to death... and that would be a huge blow to the rebel player.

Is anyone else bothered by the exclamation points on the fleet command upgrades?

Sort of!

Is anyone else bothered by the exclamation points on the fleet command upgrades?

I will be bothered if anyone uses them without exclaiming their title first.

... And since I will be calling them as I am using them, I am not bothered at all!

Or an officer that gives a fleet command upgrade slot?

I just realized the Assault Pelta and Sato have some good synergy with Ordinance Experts. With Concentrate Fire, you can roll 3 re-rollable black dice at red range (assuming you have squads in range of the target). That's comparable to Salvation in cost and damage and it's not unique. Maybe even more reliable if not as spikey.

Edit: oops..ordinance experts is not that kind of upgrade..well it still kind of works on an Mc30..but not as cheap.

No weapon teams slot.

Scout frigate with spinal armament, with OE, for 80 something points...could be worth it for up to 5 rerollable black dice a turn at red range....or 10 rerollable black dice at close range (with CF).

I wonder how much of us going nuts about that card made them go back and change the wording?

What is this wave got delayed because of us?! jk

Printing cards may be done in the US. They seem to be able to print lots of alternate art cards for competitions in quite low volumes (worlds prizes of 64 or even 8 cards etc.) which may suggest they pack them all up when the models come of the boat from China.

I doubt that is the case - not only because of the extra cost involved in doing that, but because we know of incidents when products have been shipped directly from China to Europe without passing through FFG in the States.

Also, the in-house printed cards used in tournaments look and feel different than the regular cards, something FFG is explicit about in their tournament material.

So, no further intel on the "Rapid L" offensive retrofit yet?

You could also put APT or ACM on there for some gross long range black crit shenanigans. ;)

• MC30c Scout Frigate - MC30c (69) - Ordnance Experts (4) - Assault Proton Torpedoes (5) - Admonition (8) • Total : 86

I consider that the baseline to build from.
