Phoenix Home!

Unless a card over ruled that which of you read this it seems to.

I find it interesting that there isn't a "Maximum Firepower" or something fleet command for concentrate fire.

If it existed, it would probably see more play than any of the others. This gives us three real options instead of 1 real and 3 non options.

honestly, the 3 upgrades are sexy enough to still considered options!

The shield one might be the weakest.

So I dont know if it was just me but I think what Sybreed is saying is that it says "A" friendly ship. Each other fleet support says each. So would this only mean 1 ship gets use of this upgrade. Please correct me if I am wrong

And what card is this?

The one I originally referenced Ashoka Tano

You can still engine tech it if you want an assault frigate level of cost for speed-3

But I need my commands and tokens to keep feeding the fleet. It's not worth it to waste it on myself when we can have half of an Ozzel for 5 points plus a token.

I'm thinking that the idea of this ship is to allow heavy squadron firepower to overcome the ship's speed weakness. Fast rebel ships are harder to command squadrons anyway.

I'm pleased with the article and the expansion.

That being said though, I'm glad I only pre-ordered one of them.

This sentence hurts my brain.....the new card doesn't say it allows multiple of the same token, so I'm thinking that the RRG still applies. This just lets you go to a maximum of 4 command tokens, one of each type....

Wait, I was thinking the title card...

Still, Tano would allow you to gain the token, but then the token check happens on the ship, so if you gain a token you already have you have to discard one of them. Therefore, you'd want to gain one you don't already have.....

Each ship would get to use this ability

It still follows the command token rule. Just like Tarkin.

All B-Wings Follow Me

With FCTs from a nearby ship shifting them forwards before the squadron commands. Who needs independence now?

Your three speed B-wings are fast but my 6 speed A-Wings are faster.

A maximum of speed 5...

Speed 3 B-wings!

Speed 5 YT2400s! Oh my!

Is it only me or this ship is really ridiculously underpriced? It costs barely more points than a Neb-B, but has a stronger front armament, two extra shields on the sides in exchange for only one at the aft, more engineering and more possible squadron points and a special slot.

Oh and did I mention the three different defense tokens so there is no redundancy?

Also, Phoenix Home seems easily the best title in the game, maybe even beating Demolisher - especially if you consider that it costs only 3.

it's just like redundant shields. It's useful, but only at later stages of the game, so there's always 1 or 2 turns where it's basically useless. And, 1 shield is often not enough to save a ship from dying when its shields are already gone.

The other 2 upgrades are, to me, useful all the time.

SSSSHHHHHHH!!!!!

<whispers> you'll ruin it!

Nope. It's still speed 5 a wings.

Well gents, new ship looks nice and even correctly costed. What remains to be seen is if the speed 2 will kill it.

Speed 2 and if you put FC upgrades on it, it becomes a liability if it dies. You lose a huge buff.

My speed 5+5+1+1+1 A-Wing (3 ships with FCTs + Tallon and probably needs boosted comms) notes your speed 6

(or at least 5+1 with an FCT) A-wing and smirks.

Speed 2 Speed 2 Speed 2 and Speed 2

:)

By the way, I looked at the little Flechette text that is visible, and I have a feeling you just spend a black die to toggle the activation slider of a squad.

Simple trade off. Seems balanced.

Speed 2 is a huge discount. Defined why it costs quite a bit less.

A Phoenix One doesn't need more than Speed 2. It just sticks back and allows CR90s to throw hails of black dices at you form red distance. RIP Demo or any Raider :P

Escort compared to assault

Less speed, worse AA, less front red dice, worse squadron. 1 point difference.... No idea how they cost d tokens. But I wild imagine a brace costs more than a redirect. Don't think it's that far off of what I would expect.

exactly, I don't see the speed 2 as being a weakness really

Added to KDY :)
