The Colonel's Pronounciation

By Darth Onyx, in X-Wing

Then again Queens English can be odd. I've never understood why 'derby' is pronounced 'darby' or 'hertfordshire' is 'hartfordshire'.

Or Belvoir is Beaver and Featherstonehaugh is Fanshaw and Milngavie is Mulgaye (alright, that one's Scottish) and so forth.

I'm so sorry to do this, but the title has one of my pet peeves.

The word is spelled "pro nun ciation". The "nun" is also pronounced as "nun" and not as "noun" - different pronunciation to the route word.

Muphry's Law strikes again. :)

I pronounce it Vass like the shoes ... i actually have a pair, went to Budapest for them ... it's worth more than my entire X-wing collection T_T

Pet peeve of mine. Grammar Nazis pointing out my spelling mistake, but then misspell their own word in the next sentence. Route=root. Lol

Lol the Grammar Nazi Nazi strikes

Because you simplified the spelling and thereby made it harder on yourself. Heoroford and Deoraby about a 1000 years ago.
