It seems the Liberty is much more popular than the Home One. Do you know if it performed well in the tournament?

You can see how the Rebel players fared here

I am betting this has to do with Mon Karren + Gunnery Teams, both give the Battle Cruiser an edge over the Command Cruiser. It's also easier to keep things in arc when you're moving slowly towards them, rather than at an angle.
