Playing a game on vassal with Lt Lorir andTetran Cowel with predator and these cards:oX6WyQH.jpglwkZAGB.jpg

Teamed with a Saber with PTL title and panels, and an alpha with panels.

Went up against Talon Fen Manaru with mindlink.

Dice were not my friend, and this is even more dicy than regular intercepters. I did manage to take out manaru and got Cobra to half life.

Tetran had good luck with 181st on his Kturns, but Panels is DEFINITELY a 0 point card. Lorir didnt really get a goo chance to use her ability. The PTL Saber was able to control his PTL stress right until he reached combat range- sped him into battle, but didnt let him Ktrn behind his opponent. The alpha ate 2 5 die attacks on the first round of combat from TalonFen. Rolled well defensively, used panels well, but was overwelmed with dice.

Also have to worry about palp being able to change it so you always get it off like on a k turn but that might not be so bad

That would make the ones with an ept better but pilots like kir kos would still be gathering dust. Why not something like comm relay where you can choose an unspent token at the end of the round and readd the ept but drop the stress remove?

The stress removal is important to Lorir and Tetran, as their abilities require taking stress.

As you said, having the EPT and the stress removal basically glues PTL to it, so I removed the middleman, and gave a focus token that nothing can keep you from getting, which I feel is essential for such a dice-reliant ship.

With this version, Kir Kanos has a focus for defence, so he can "tank up" with focus evade, adding a result on his own low PS shot if he isnt shot at.

Tetran, Turr, Carnor and Fel are indeed more powerful with the free token- but they lose the combination of Autothrusters/stealth Device, and have to rely more heavilly on arcdodging to keep the points you put into them alive.

Only Carnor and Fel get better with free token and Fel wins out either getting two focus from ptl or gets no stress and still has full tokens, Tetran and Turr won't be touched and without an ept kir can token up but can't arc dodge or get a higher ps to decide to move

Kir tanking up isn't bad but 3 health with no shields is not a weak biggs, Kir would want to stay at range 2-3 mainly 3 to use his ability and keep Autothrusters usable which means he needs to keep at range, without being able to boost he can't be the highly mobile arc dodger that interceptors are suppose to be, Carnor Jax can get in close and be a fantastic knife fighter because His ability keeps him safe and messes with opponents. Being an arc dodger, keeping at range and being fast is primarily what keeps interceptors safe.

It seems you want to turn them into mini defenders which is not their role

The area around me ran out of tie strikers but I want to run a shuttle with lwf but I don't see what that has to do with tie interceptors what do you outfit them with in your 4 alpha list

The Alphas? Nothing, not even Autothrusters. (though the 0 point mod I propose above will fit them nicely)

The Intel shuttle gets all 28 remaining points.

Intel agent lets whichever Alpha is in position to boost or barrel roll for a block, while the others pile in for 3 die primary attacks. A Lambada also brings a 3 die primary, whereas a Tie Shuttle is more defensive and maneuverable with 2+1 defence dice and possiblly Isard.

Bringing up to x5 3 die attacks is a devastating barrage, better even than BBBBZ. You force the other guy to dodge YOUR arcs while sitting behind 3 defence dice.

It's not as invincible as a token stacking arcdodger. It's a swarm, you expect individual ships to die. The point is to beat them before they beat you.

I feel the punisher needs a fix more in role than cost. At the moment a bomber does the same things but cheaper.

That's not a problem for a vassal league.

How do you do that in vassal? I thought it just had the normal 1-3 range checker. Then again never done epic on vassal either so I might just not know.

I was thinking of things from a newer more advanced launchers angle combined with a mechanics focus. Ultimately I wanted to let the Punisher do something distinct.

If people think its a bad fit I'll do something else though.

I had also toyed with the idea of letting the punisher simultaneously fire ordnance at 2 ships, but that seems like it would make tripple punishers OP.

As for the range 4 measurement it seems like everyone who plays xwing inevitably either cuts up a spare ruler or gets one the acrylic sets and could stack their range 1 ruler on their range 3 one to measure range 4. Or just use a regular ruler remembering each range band is 10cm.

Just wondering, would a 0 point, unique title be considered an auto include for a large ship if it adds an upgrade slot, like the Slave I title.

21 points for a PS2 Interceptor with 2 shields, a system, no boost, no hard greens, no hard 1s, has Talonrolls, and can pay 5 points for an Autocrit system. (no discount)

It feels like I'm not actually offering it enough for it's point value. Would you give this a 2 point discount? What would you add?

Edit: Another reference- Zeta Specialist with Lightened Frame has 1 more shield, a rear arc, red hard 1s, sloop 3s instead of Troll2s and 1 more PS for 4 more points, no access to ATC, and dropping 3 hards to red.

By making it an "anyone can take this" system slot, it takes the narrative focus off "this is the punisher's thing" and onto "this is a cool thing Punishers can do.

Ewings, Bwings, G1A, IG88, Lambadas, Upsilons, Tie SFs, even the Ghost can use this with their primary weapons, ghost can even use it with TLT, but they all roll an extra die. The punisher, as the only munition platform with a system slot, can use this with torpedos and missiles, which DONT grnt an extra green from super-long range. (because, y'know,, they track)

It's not the entirety of any punisher fix, but it's an interesting start.

I'm curious if I could submit a V-Wing Aces pack? When I first envisioned the ship, almost the entire point of it had been to introduce a ship with White Tallon Rolls, which at one point during development got shifted from the dial onto a title, which didn't make it into the league.

I'd really like to put forward a pack that would actually let the ship fly in the way it was originally intended, along with a couple of other fun options.

short answer: no new V-wings this season

Long answer: The V-wing from season 1 is in limbo until it gets voted on by people who played in the tournament. (I still need to set up that vote). It will either be kept as-is, revised, or removed from the CCL. In any case, a new V-wing submission is not legal this season. If the season 1 version is removed, the V-wing will be a legal submission next season. If it gets revised, a new title card would probably be perfectly fine to include as part of that revision, and a change to the dial would certainly be acceptable.

If you really want to make those changes this season, your best bet at this moment is to lobby the people who played in the tournament to put the V-wing in for a revision. I don't think that would be a hard sell to make.

From what I saw of the tournament the V-Wing got a little fringe play in a couple of Scum lists (With uh, Reach from memory was the top ace in the ship), but just wasn't quite competitive. Which is fine - I think it hit about as close to balanced as I could have hoped it to be.

I'll see if I can put some opinions in some ears - its a pretty flimsy interceptor and without the white T-Rolls really pales compared either to true interceptors like the Fang or lite-Interceptors like the A-Wing or TAP.

Eyeballing a point cost here:

On one hand, it's an extremely potent ability. On the other hand, it can only go on Tie Fighters, Tie/FOs, or no-title Tie SF, so it's only rolling 2 dice on a fragile platform. (barring Mauler Mithal/Backstabber, or the Tie SF that has to make up for losing it's "auto take" title)

On reflection, im thinking 2-3 points.

itscomparable to Snapshot- an extra attack thats difficult to trigger. The attacker can modify, but so can the defrnder. It has a larger range, but your entire list must dodge an arc for anyone to get a bonus shot.
