We decided to try out some Jabba's Realm stuff.

Here's a live-stream we did, sorry the quality isn't as good as my usual videos. This was just a twitter live stream done with my tablet.

I'm super excited about Shyla and Vinto and I figured I'd toss in the Gammoreans and Jabba to try them out. First Strike because hey maybe it'll work well with Jabba, and my command deck loaded with cards that generate VP.

My Thoughts:

Shyla and Vinto are awesome. I'm in love. I was already in love with Vinto as soon as I saw his art, but after playing him, he's likely to become my new favorite. He's fast and he hits hard.

Shyla is just a beast. Super solid.

Jabba is nuts. I think you'll probably want to use Single Purpose in a deck with Jabba. It was tough decided whether to actually spend two VPs to have someone do an attack, even with all of the extra VP I was getting.

Terro and the Dewback Rider seemed good. Very solid. They don't seem amazing, but certainly not worth ignoring. They felt like they're in a really good place where some people will probably be able to make them work well and others will probably ignore them.

We realized that it might be really funny to put Cross Training on a Dewback Rider.

I'm sure we give other thoughts in the video too.

I won with 42 points and I only killed Captain Terro and the Dewback Rider. I got 30 points out of objectives, Jabba, and Command Cards.

Terro and the Dewback Rider seemed good. Very solid. They don't seem amazing, but certainly not worth ignoring. They felt like they're in a really good place where some people will probably be able to make them work well and others will probably ignore them.

We realized that it might be really funny to put Cross Training on a Dewback Rider.

I'm sure we give other thoughts in the video too.

I'm going to have to go on a binge on the Jodo Cast channel one of these days...

what did you think of the Gamorreans? You didn't mention them, but they seemed to do exactly what I expected them to (Soak up wounds and lay a hurt on anyone who gets close enough to reach)

Was Vinto that impressive because of Jabba's focus, or he just rolled well or what? Shyla seemed to be fairly effective and the +1movement seemed like a nice mechanic. Jabba seemed to actually be the MVP in this one.

I think the dewbacks are going to plod along. I worry about stuff that cancels surges because it seems a lot of the damage is after the initial roll.

It looked like your regular Nexu Cleaved 2 at the beginning. Unless they changed the card, he's only got cleave 1 and pierce 2 which makes him decidedly worse than the elite Nexu. Of course rolling too many surges on a eNexu is frustrating as well.

Oh. Yeah I have the Alt Art Nexu and there's a misprint. Regular should just be cleave 1. We just forgot about that. Crap.

The Gamoreans were good. Not amazing. Not terrible. Just good. I can see them doing a lot of work in the right hands. I really liked the extra block when being attacked by a ranged attack. With these guys and Jedi Luke, I like that there are some things that might encourage more melee units.

The Gamorreans love that white die except when they actually get a surge :huh: cleave 2 could really ruin some people's day. In the few games I've seen them in, they put decent damage on and the Reach is really nice. But they don't really live longer than any thing else with 8 health a black die. That being said, I think they are solid, they do what they are supposed to do, soak up wounds and hack down anyone who gets close. Vinto is going to be a beast when put together with Jabba's Nefarious Gains. You'd think a BG is pretty average, but his surge abilities and the extra off target damage is awesome at cleanup. I can't wait to see his Command card (or all of them actually) Shyla is a great beatstick, but still needs a little oomph to get her into upper tier, she does well, but her movement is a little meh, and when she starts taking damage, like most uniques, she starts to wither or crumple quick. Onar hits like a truck, but even with 15 health, I've found he only lasts 3 maybe 4 shots. I was playing a e-Web (I know) against him and did 14 health in one activation. I'd hate to see what eStormtroopers will do to him. His command card better make him invulnerable and recover half his health or something, because he's about to become another Biv Bodrick.

I just meant having multiple figures from the same activation will wreak havoc on him. He can't stop surges even, so it even feels like buckets more damage. If someone gets the drop on him or steals the initiative, he could die without doing anything. He feels more fragile than Greedo, he's not, but he feels that way. He's actually very strong with his attack, and a great candidate for Jabba's Ordered Hit because of the movement after the hit
