CC & New Objective questions

By itzSteve, in Star Wars: Armada Rules Questions

I have a few questions regarding the new CC and new objectives:

1. Is there a penalty for overlapping the new dust fields?

2. Jamming Barrier: Do the two tokens count for LOS obstruction on shots through the barrier or only between the tokens?

3. Blockade Run: Does the entire ship need to be within the first players deployment zone to get the victory token or any part of the ship?

4. Sensor Net: After gaining a victory token, the player gets to choose ANY of the 4 tokens to have the opponent move or only ones that are within distance one of the ship gaining the token?

5. Navigational Hazards: When moving obstacles at the end of the round, do ALL of the obstacles get moved or only one for each side?

6. Solar Corona: If a ship is shooting another ship at black range, and the red range of that arc is in the corona, does the accuracy penalty still apply? My question is...does range matter or just the arc?

... and I made a whole post for these questions and all...

BUT. Let us get to it!

...

1) Stated so far, No Penalty for Overlap. Ships cannot draw LOS through it. Squadron LOS is obstructed as normal.

2) Line between ... The Objective Tokens are seemingly not counted themselves... It would have to say so, to be otherwise, as it does not.

3) Within is defined in the rule book as completely within - so the entire ship must be there to count. Otherwise, it is not "Within", it is merely "at".

4) The opponent chooses one of the referred to Objective Tokens - those referred to as those Objective Tokens within Distance 1 of your friendly ships... it is there for when you are in range of multiple tokens - they could send the non-scanned one away if they want... But it must still be from the tokens that you qualified to scan.

5) You alternate. All the Asteroids and Debris are moved, until there are none to move.

6) Firing Arcs themselves have Infinite Range. If any portion of the Arc can draw LOS to the Corona Edge, then it counts... It doesn't matter on the table where you are, you're looking into the Sun.

If all you are using are Black Dice, then you don't have to worry, since there's no natural ACC to remove now, is there?

But if you're throwing Reds+Blacks at Close Range, and any part of the arc draws LOS to the Corona Edge, obstructed or not... Then you Risk rolling a Red Acc and losing it on your initial roll...

Thanks Dras!...You rock!

Not disagreeing on this, just elaborating...

Interestingly, the objective actually doesn't differentiate a scanned token. It just says "if you're in range of at least one, grats! you get points." I've kind of been thinking of it as a binary state toggled on the ship rather than a target to grab. So it doesn't matter in any respect which one you "scanned": you were enabled to scan by being in distance of at least one token. After you've scanned, one of the tokens in distance 1 of the activated ship moves.

It's going to be really interesting to see the formations people try with this one. If you're trying to pick up the same token multiple times in one round, you'll need to be flying pretty tight to force the end point to be in distance 1 of a second ship. Or, you could fly really loose and try to make sure each token is only in range of one ship so you can pick up each one once. Or you could keep one ship behind the scanner to pick it up the following turn. Or you could keep a sweeper just off of your enemy and out-activate him, forcing him to pick it up and allow ing you to move it in scanning range of your ship...

SO MANY OPTIONS. This is a good objective. Gonna be awesome for Madine.
