Where's the FAQ for X-Wing? Can't seem to find it in the forums. I want to peruse it before I start asking stupid questions.

You can find the rules reference, latest FAQ, Tournament Rules, and most of the resources to answer rules questions.

It's also in the Index of Useful Links topic in the main X-Wing forum. Kudos for trying though, a lot of people don't seem to bother.
