Factoring in the bid when scoring

By CheesyGC, in X-Wing Rules Questions

Okay, so I realize that when you get tabled your opponent should get the full 100 points regardless of the point total of your list. My question is on scoring when points remain. It should just be the point total of the ships destroyed, right? I won a game recently and my opponent claimed my 3 point bid should go toward his score in addition to the points he actually destroyed. I didn't really feel like challenging this since I wasn't doing well (and neither was he) and it wasn't going to matter, but just wanted to settle this before I hit up another tournament.

Score is based on points destroyed. Not 100-points remaining.

Yeah, that's what I thought. What turd that guy was then. He was rather insistent and I was in no mood to deal with it.

Not getting those points spent on an initiative bid was one of the reasons that a two Phantom build spending 86 points or so could work back in the day. Maybe your opponent could kill one but killing both didn't always happen so that last one may be carrying around a 14 point "premium. It's true that those points could have bought a TIE Fighter but it could be figured that the TIE was easily killed compared to the Phantom and didn't contribute enough offense so why give up those points when they could just be hoarded with the last Phantom.
