Cassian Andor .......

By shotbyscott, in X-Wing

"At the end of the Planning phase, you may choose an enemy ship at Range 1-2. Guess aloud that ship's bearing and speed, then look at its dial. If you are correct, you may rotate your dial to another manoeuvre."

I bet this guy will get annoying quickly...... Baron S.Fel will hate him, and so will uncloaked phantoms.

Now here is my question. Just in case I actually guess right do I have to show my opponent what i changed their dial to :) ?
It would be so funny to see them turn over unknown dials they thy haven't taken into account, i.e. blocking them selves, or after a de cloak landing on an Asti etc

" If you are correct, you may rotate your dial to another manoeuvre."

I believe you are reading this wrong, you do not change your opponents dial.

" If you are correct, you may rotate your dial to another manoeuvre."

Ohhhh my bad

yes thanks for that ..... helps it i read everything correctly :(

its your dial, not theirs.

Its for when you cant predict someone because he has 2-3 legitimate moves he could do. You plan for one, guess the other. If right, change your dial. If wrong, big deal youre already set for that move.

I see this as one of those cards that can bring a player up to mid tier. The super competitive players who seem to be omniscient will be spending their points elsewhere. Same tier as Stay On Target, Navigator, Imperial Boba Fett, and (tries not to gag) Maneuvering Fins. Great cards for newer players.

The one purely meta-thing I don't like about abilities such as Andor is that they draw out the game. Everyone sets dials, you guess, and may then reset the dial - all of which is time in which your opponent just twiddles his thumbs. But other than that, it's a neat idea. :)

Stay on Target - mid tier?! How very dare you sir! :)

I've been trying to find a bloody place to use this for so long and I can FINALLY throw it onto Nien Numb for shenanigans of the highest order.

Unfortuneatly useless against ships with 8 or higher ps

Unless you have Intel Agent/Cassian Andor on another pilot, or it's a PS8+ ship with limited repositioning ability (Dengar).

The thing I'm dreading is the first time my ship with Cassian Andor faces an opponent with another Cassian Andor. The pilot with initiative will guess what the other ship has as a maneuver and change their dial if correct.. Then, the other Cassian gets to guess the new maneuver and change their own dial. It's going to be total chaos and shenanigans.

Cassian is like int agent, but without needing a boost or roll or decloak or slam or sot etc in order to make use of the information he gets ya (assuming you fly in such a way that the maneuver you dial works as you want to against every maneuver except the maneuver you guess your opponent has)

Don't Forget an ARC-170 with Hera and a Targeting Astromech.

I really like Cassian from what I have seen. It really puts your knowledge as a player to the test. How good Cassian is, is how much YOU as the player know about the enemies maneuver dial.

He will find a permanent place aboard Eaden Vrill's YT-2400 for me.
