Help me beat Dengaroo with my Ds

I've been playing triple Ds these last months (Vessery juke, Ryad PTL, Delta) with good success. Now I'm heading for several upcoming regionals where I expect to be facing Dengaroo lists galore. In my local meta Dengaroo is nowhere to be found (yet..) so I have no experience flying against it. I've flown it myself in some private casual games just to see what the fuss was all about, so I understand how it works. I've also been playing the jump master a lot in earlier lists myself so I got a good feel on how it can move.

I'd love to hear any input or tips on how to take Dengaroo down, especially with defenders- what seems to be the general tip in other discussions about Dengaroo is to focus fire on Manaroo first, but that seems like very limited advice. Any help would be welcome.

If Manaroo is his support, which she usually is, burn her down first. At least in my experience, Dengar players get wiggy when she's being pursued (what husband wouldn't) and loose their focus. Even if they know that and try to use her as bait, she's his tokens and he cannot use his ability chasing you.....

If he has other support ships --like Palob or the bus-- plan accordingly; they have their own powers, but they don't make old Deng all that. And, beyond his first probable alpha strikes, he's not all that and a ham sandwich.

Been playing Dengaroo sinceJuly. Defenders are one of the harder matches for Dengaroo. They have a similar strength as Dengar, in that they will cancel the majority of incoming damage, and even cancel a fair amount after Zuckuss, making his one (or two) attacks less effective. If you can catch up to Manaroo, focus fire her down ASAP. If not, you should be able to wear down Dengar, very slowly. Use your Target Locks for attack and focus/Palp for defense, so he's less likely to wreck you with Zuckuss.

Lots of people will tell you to forego attacks against him. This isn't really a winning strategy. You have to make your attacks to kill him before he beats you. If you're not shooting Manaroo but you have arc on Dengar, you need to shoot Dengar. If there is a turn where one of your ships doesn't fire, you're just helping him beat you. And on that note, if you have a Palpatine Shuttle, it MUST be attacking as well. It is not auxiliary, it is a part of the list and represents 1/3 of its firepower. You have to jeep that shuttle in the dogfight. The only time you should straight up forego attacks is if you are inside his arc on the turn he spends Counter Measures. He disposed of your target lock and will roll 3 evades against every attack, so on this turn you're just inviting damage and unlikely to deal any. Otherwise, you have to be willing to take damage to deal damage. You HAVE to shoot him. And all of these things are ONLY if you can't catch up to Manaroo before Dengar starts chewing on you.
