Beauty and the Beast

I think many of you have already seen the trailer for the new lice action Beauty and the Beast movie, for those that haven't, here it is:

so what do you think of this new version and the characters?

I saw the animated movie when i was young and liked so i might be biased towards it though i don't mind the new one even if i think it was not really necessary.

Now about the character, i think Emma Watson as Belle is quite a good choice, the Beast however i'm not quite sure about the looks he kind of seems very friendly and human looking i know they couldn't give him the cartoony teeth of the animated version but would those two tiny teeth are for i don't get.

Luke Ewans for Gaston doesn't look to bad but he is definetely not broad enough and doesn't look like he has biceps to spare, should have eaten more eggs probably ;) I think Josh Gad looks good as LeFou but they should have digitaly shrunk him like they did with John-Rhys Davies in Lord of the Rings, because for me he ist to big, i always liked the hight difference between Gaston and LeFou, it also showed quite well where his place was.

Lumiere just looks like a figurine of a human with candles on it, i just don't like him, while i like Cogsworth's look i just think the sillyness and cartoonyness of the animated characters fits living objects much better, i always liked that Lumiere's head was a candle, Chip however looks great in my opinion and Mrs. Potts also looks quite good although i would have liked it more if her face was on the front of the pot so that she had a nose.

Although i like most of the animated characters more than the new ones i think i will watch this movie, what about you?

And after watching Be our Guest again and everything is a animated object i have to ask how many servants did the Beast and hase he still funrniture and housewares after everyone is transformed back?

Dont get me wrong i think Emma is actually a good actress unlike most of them who are pretty much only there because theyre hot, but i dont think shes a good Belle pick simply because she doesnt resemble the animated belle at all. Yeah, you arent going to get an exact match between animation and real life but shes not even close.

I just cant see her as Belle.

That is totally fine, who would you have cast? And what do you thnk about the rest of the cast?

Rest of the cast seems fine to me.

As for a better belle i dont really have a good candidate. To me that was the reason B&B was never made a live action, nobody fit belle's description. I rarely follow celebrities so theres a lot of names i dont know but faces i do know.

Emma Watson is one of the more believable Belles out there, she's just as much of a voracious reader in real life.

It looks like they're trying to shift a bit of the "inventor" to her as well, which should work.

It can't be an exact match to the animated one - Cinderella and Jungle Book both diverge a lot (for the better) from the cartoon, because there are some things that just won't work so well live-action.

Gaston is a case in point. In the animation, he may be roughly the size of a barge, but there are plenty of big guys out there - the point - in story, at least - is that he's supposed to be all swoon-inducingly handsome despite having the personality of pond scum, and given the general response to him in Dracula Untold, he qualifies.

I'll admit I don't really see here as Belle either, but it depends what version of the story they're trying to tell. Besides which; she can act, and I'd far rather have a good actor who looks roughly right, than a perfect visual match who can't carry a scene in a bucket.

Ultimately, I have some confidence. The recent Disney live-action animation conversions have all been good, and I'm aware that the same film casting management team at Disney is ultimately responsible for the casting in the recent Marvel and Star Wars films too. I feel they've earned a bit of faith.

Certainly, Cogsworth and Lumiere seem perfectly cast.

Final Trailer , i like the Gaston and mirror scene ;)

Emma Watson's singing isn't the best. They should have overdubbed her rather than use digital manipulation. If it was good enough for classic Hollywood, it's good enough now.
