= Master of The Fleet = Battle Report Ep.4| V FOR VICTORY vs MC80 BATTLECRUISER

By Irokenics, in Star Wars: Armada

Greetings Fleet Commanders!

Here is our next battle report, its a little late due to life, nationals and worlds but here it is! Its most likely our last Wave 4 battle report before the release of Wave 5!

This time our friendly Intel Officer Luke (Captain Weather) was away on assignment so we had members of the PAW lined up for a game (including myself!).

Any feedback is greatly appreciated!

Great battle report as usual. I enjoy the detail you guys put into showing what is happening at every step. The only recommendation I would make is to lower the music level a bit. It is sometimes hard to hear the commentary.

I thought the video was well done! Love the angles you guys get.

hey thanks for pointing that out! We're getting fixed at the moment, it wasn't supposed to be like that. In fact its only like that for a small part of the video (the important part lol)

I reuploaded with the volume control fixed up. Thanks guys!

Great video. Had a lot of fun and even learned a few things.

Thanks!

Great stuff guys! Really enjoyed it. Was itching all game for Endeavor to just cut loose on those VSDs but she just couldnt get there!

No technical feedback to offer - keep them up!

thanks mate! what did you learn might i ask?

Love it. The edits make it a good length for lunch hour consumption, and I really appreciate the variety of camera angles and close-in shots. The decision-making discussion within the game and summary at the end also help me learn from watching.

First, we had always played that Superior Positions only gave you an objective token when you put a damage card on a ship. Now we realize it's whenever you do damage at all, shields included. What a difference!

I learned the important lesson of setting up an alpha strike (don't push forward too early). Seeing those poor ties get slaughtered early was...educational. :)

The anti-squadron performance of Tie Bombers backed by Flight Controllers isn't too bad!

Love the trick of using dice to track damage on squadrons during the turn. It saves a lot of bother picking up, twisting, and putting down the individual pieces. And it avoids inevitable changes in position of squads.

Oh man, i forgot the battlecruiser had 2 black flak dice, it messed up my TIE combo plans with howlrunner badly!

Great stuff guys. It was an excellent report.

I was amazed that first player picked superior positions over precision strike considering you had a bunch of xwings. I think superior positions is a real trap for first player, people underestimate how bad that deployment disadvantage can be.

Thanks for the effort guys, it was lovely to break up my day!

I'd love to hear a bit about deployment. I keep hearing how good deployment advantage is - but I always set up according to my needs and the terrain rather than the enemy fleet.

I'm sure I'm still too new to understand the subtleties of deployment.

Glad we could break up your day!

Yeah honestly i thought he'd pack Precision Strike too because of Dodonna but under filming conditions i guess we play pretty loosely sometimes!

Thats actually a great idea! We usually do the deployment off screen simply because sometimes its too much to record and can be a bit boring to watch. We're looking at ways to somehow convey the deployment strategy whilst being engaging and not taking too much time.
