U Wing Preview is up

By Jarval, in X-Wing

Heh.

Bohdi pilot plus TFA Han Pilot.

Heh.

Ordnance. Ordnance for everyone. You get a missile, YOU get a missile, EVERYBODY GETS A MISSILE!

Bohdi crew only works for the ship he is on. The keyword is "you".

I like the Title's ability to let you turn on a dime (stress token) and at least move 2 forward to relieve the stress unless you have a crew for handling that. Some fascinating dynamics make it a very different sort of support ship and a great fit for Rebels. It doesn't come with Conditionals like most of the other Wave 10s.

That dial is extremely good for the stats/price. Better than a lambda.

Anyone else amused that the U-Wing specializes in Target Lock efficiency, the same thing that the Lambda attempted? Rebel scum have no original ideas...

Bolded for your convenience ;)

I mean, this isn't really a viable combo in 100 point play because you only get maybe two missile zs in alongside those two pilots, probably only one, but meh, DON'T TREAD ON MY DREAMS.

Eidt: Ninja'd by seconds.

Anyway, so FFG is still talking about getting these out before the movie? I almost prefer a staggered release of U-wing and Striker and the rest of wave 10 later. Seems more affordable that way.

Does Baz plus Rex crew have any play?

Wow that dial is surprisingly open.

It's a better dial than a lot of small ships. Comparing it to the Lambda and saying it's a challenging dial is just weird.

I do like the Bodhi pilot + Ashoka / Capture TIE idea...

title makes it nearly infinitely better due to "0 k-turn"

One of the group chats I'm in saw the article and their first comment was:

Manaraoo - Wingman - Inspiring Recruit - Payback Droid - Proton Torps - Glitterstim - Countermeasures

Dengar - Zuckuss crew - Unhinged Astromech - Predator + title - Glitterstim - Countermeasures

98 points

Dengar removes two / three stress a turn.

Bodhi (either) just made Rebel ordinance worth taking for me. Team him (either) with other locking abilities and you could get entire 4/5/6 ship lists firing in one turn. Or at least ready to fire.

Already seeing Bodhi and Dutch team-ups in the future.

Love the other cards too. Inspiring Recruit on a Rage-ing Keyan? Does him using them as a focus count as removing?

Seriously! 6 green maneuvers in the 1/2 speed range and its only red is the 0-stop and 0-k via title.

Boo

Hoo

Maybe that's the FFG screw up and they put the wrong picture up. :P

And Bodhi pilot in Epic is going to be hilarious.

.live fo nwaps eht era mucS lebeR ehT

Hoo, better now.

What I meant to say was that perhaps it is time to have the Sentinel-class shuttle update the Imps in the same way.

Please please please fly your Manaroo within range 1 of Dengar. Half the reason Dengaroo gives people fits is that Manaroo can just flat out outrun things that want to kill her.

It's a good plan, but from what we've seen of winning Dengaroo lists, keeping Manaroo away from Dengar/the fight is key, as Manaroo dying means Dengar = screwed. So Wingman wouldn't be the best option.

I likey ...lot. :)

Edit: Is it weird tha they used the pre-errata Tactician card? or maybe that's all there is.

If it werent for rage recruit gunner being a shoo in for pwt garbage, id be all over it

Hopefully the lack of defense makes it completely not viable and we can stick it on cass instead. Recruits also work with his ability if desired

34 points may be a bit steep though

I'll be honest. I was kind of hoping for the Imperial droid as crew...

Meh, not too impressed. Still getting one because the model is beautiful and I'll be flying one.

Still bitter it doesn't just have side arcs to act as a Nam huey.

I'm not excited about Bodhi. It's essentially a LRS that comes with a full price tag of a ship. In most cases having a ship at 1-3 of the enemy while the rest of your ships are not at 1-3 means you f...ed up and enemy will defeat you in detail. Ahsoka is probably the sole exception and it does add even more utility to her. The problem is that Ahsoka is somewhat situational and picking her can backfire badly if you run into a PS9 list. And there are still quite a few of those around.

I really like the recruit+rage combo though. I suspect that as usual it will be the scum large ships that will benefit the most out of it, although I kinda like the concept of AdvS+Rage+Recruit combo. It sounds a bit like AdvS brobots - you bump into one enemy while shooting the other one, you stress yourself before you move and clear it right after making your move.... It's not terribly pricey either and completely unblockable.

In space?

For atmospheric combat, sure. But yeah... not so much in space.

With Bistan being a crew we've not seen, and in the BTS featurette him seemingly being a side gunner, maybe he'll have an ability like "You may receive one(two?) stress token to perform an attack outside of your primary firing arc. You may not attack again this round"
