Doubtful. They are something you buy in shipments, if they show up, or in Tier 5+ in Rancor.

My previous guild was ok but thought I'd give this a go. Be good if we can get some more numbers.

Totally free play for me. Not because there's anything wrong with paying.. I'm just too poor lol.

Just hit Lvl 60 this morning. Currently running Sidious, Luminara, Consular, Mace Windu and Ahsoka. Able to outlast a lot of +10-15% power squads though very fast and high call assist squads are tough. Sidious heal blocking whoever I want to kill and Mace Windu removing buffs has been really good.

I have just got Vader and powering him up but will be so long before I can 5 star him I'm not sure it's worthwhile.

Had a bit of a scattergun approach to farming which has helped in some ways but about two weeks ago I stopped progressing much due to that so have focused into the above team and now Vader.

I really like the Sith Assassin. Hope she is an easy farm when she is made farmable.

Got smashed on tier 4 of both the new special events.

Assassin does seem to absolutely nuke stuff though!

Yeah dig the Assassin and I finally got 3 scoundrels, Chewie, ST Han and Cad Bane. Made it to lvl 50 but can't get past the first mod battle yet... Only have two characters at 50...

Trying to farm Boba because he drives me nuts when I see him in some sort of PvP

Speaking of which I must rant.

Got totally stuck on the galactic war today. I normally can complete all but the last battle. Today had a lvl 50 team with Boba, and I blew my heals by using them way too soon. Didn't want to just a "Derrr I cans heals!!... I push da button" thing. Then when I brought my backup team which is pretty good normally, Boba had the mando buff back so I had to kill him twice again.

My current team is Barriss Offee, Chewie, Luke, Mace and Jedi Consular. All my DS characters are lower power level so for most things it's pure LS characters. Need 20 more shards for Boba, then it's going to be farming for people like Dooku.

Farm maul for darkside as he is incredible. Once you've got opponents health on red he just destroys them and gains turn meter. He's soloed and entire team before!!

Sometimes, you just need to restart the battle (you can retreat and start again with your team as it was). Sometimes the RNG screws you. Its also the trick I use to get my dailies and save the refresh for when GW is guild activities.

Yeah, retreat if it goes badly and try a different team or strategy.

Also I "cannon fodder" my weaker guys in Galactic War when needed. I dont care if they die, they are just meant to soften up a tough enemy so my main team can go in with a headstart.

I might suggest working on more Jedi instead of Dooku if you're wanting to use a lot of Jedi (your main team has 3). Unless you are working on some good Rebels to unlock Palpy because he makes Sith at least 50% better by himself and without him I just think Jedi are better (especially for the early to mid-game). It also works well if you're using a Barriss lead, as you'll want to gain max benefits from that ability. Qui Gon and Luminara have both been amazing for me, being both easy to farm and just pretty solid characters in general so I would personally recommend getting them as quickly as possible. Boba and Qui do come from the place though, so you do have to make the decision early on who you will be getting first. Mace does pretty much the same job as Qui Gon though, so unless you're wanting to do a mostly Jedi team I would probably go with Boba over Qui Gon. You will probably want to get Yoda at some point too, so farming Jedi will also help to get him unlocked.

Other than that, I'd say start working on ST Han and Royal Guard as your tanks. Royal Guard has been the most important character in my progression since he has an incredible amount of health once he is geared up and just auto taunting any time somebody falls below 50% is amazing. ST Han isn't really mandatory since he is a little squishy for a tank, but he is really good at helping his squadmates take extra turns when he takes damage. I certainly havent regretted changing my main tank from Chewy to Royal guard though and just to prove I'm not biased, level and gear up Chewy and Royal Guard the same to compare how their health and abilities will affect your team. Having 2 tanks is also something to consider, since the opposing team will generally only have one character that speciallizes in removing taunts, therefor ensuring that you always have somebody taunting. For a long time, I ran both Royal Guard and Chewy/Hoth Rebel Soldier which was pretty good until I got my Han. Han is also a Rebel, which will help you later when you're trying to get Palp.

Overall though, you're team is starting to look alright. And sorry for my rambling.

Thanks guys! Just got the game a couple of days ago. I am but a lowly lvl 22, so what should I be focused on doing right now? What characters should I farm for, and how much should I conserve training bots on my little clone trooper and ewok? I feel like I should save training droids for when I unlock really good characters.

Training Droids will eventually not be an issue. And training a bunch will make Galactic War a bit easier once you unlock it.

Honestly, the real key thing to focus on first is Scoundrels, for the nearly weekly Training Droid and Credit events. There is just so many directions the game can pull you, but I don't think it is necessarily bad to wander to get the guys you want.

I'm looking to get a Sith team eventually, but from what I can tell, those characters take a while to unlock.

Savage isn't too bad. He was also a helpful guy for the dark side missions. Dooku isn't bad once you get to his Cantina node. Even Vader and Maul aren't too bad, once you have ships unlocked. We will see where the three new Sith wind up in 3 months.

Maul is taking forever for me. I've been farming him out of Guild and Fleet for about a month now and I'm only at like 53/80 I think. I always have at least 400 fleet currency for when either he or Vader show up there. I probably should have been working on Maul more instead of Sun Fac...

It is kind of funny to be frustrated to see Vader show up in Fleet now. Even more to toss Vader shards into the shard shop.

No. We just have to be patient and get our guild up to handle heroic AAT.

The last guild I was in (which i left) would ONLY do the first level Rancor raid. Despite having the tickets and high-level members to do the heroic AAT and heroic Rancor.

When I asked why they wouldn't do the others, I was told "So scrubs like you could git gud" by the leader.

I know I was getting frustrated with my last guild. About half active members, pretty much everyone was made an officer, so there was no real control over which raid we were doing.

How would only doing tier 1 rancor raids make the members "git gud"? I don't understand.

my current guild have a level 1 AAT raid going (has been for the last 2 weeks lol) and regularly runs different tier raids.

The way they do it is limit levels that can participate (everyone can enter the raid but above the set levels just sticks one weak character in and does minimal damage and the guys of the lower levels smash face) so level 45 and under for tier 1, tier 2 is 55, tier 3 in 60, 4 is 65 and the rest are free for alls.

I just had Maul solo a cantina battle stage after i let my son be my ally and he used him lol.
