Well, about **** time.

Awesome!

They start talking about Armada at 38:30.

Nice, didn't realize Skyshuffler played Paul. You're just about as hard a counter as Paul has.

I absolutely agree with Skyshuffler that the time limit is not enough. Most people haven't run into this for a while because balanced lists don't take too long, but if you take either lots of ships or lots of squadrons, your games are going to take a long time. I played squadron heavy in Wave 1 and swarms in 2, and those games always go longer. As squadrons get more popular and flotillas drive the activation count up, more people's games get longer and longer.

Black squadron will be a nice half-escort. One of the reasons people are bringing lots of escorts is for area coverage while getting them into position. You can cover your weak side with Black while your Advanceds jockey for position. So you can take two advanced and Black and shave a few points off the top, while still fully protecting your Dengar or Rhymer or whatever.

I agree with Dano that Ten Nunb is the Nym of the squadron fight. I don't agree that that makes it worth taking. I don't like Nym and I don't like Ten Nunb. I think blue crit effects in general are just not very appealing to me.

Blockade Run sounds like a lot of fun. I love the radically different board setup and gameplay for it.

Nav Hazards had to be written with the "dealt a damage card" wording because asteroids don't deal damage, they deal a face-up damage card.

Ya, WTH! They certainly need to work on that and get it to stretch to 40mins at least.

The gall of these dudes. Clearly out of practice.

Seriously, get good at stalling

Sorry Ard, next time we will avoid Armada altogether so you dont have to tune out after 38 minutes!

Good thoughts ard! Makes my above comment seem snarky with thay stealth edit!

Not my intent. Just didn't want to take over your thread with my stream-of-consciousness thought.

... As has been happening anyway... :)

I'm half way through the cast. I'd say a general gaming podcast is a good idea. It gives you guys more room to talk about what's relevant or what you're playing, while still leaving room to talk Armada as it comes up.

I'd personally like some IA talking!

As long as people know what you're covering in the show notes, it should work out well.

I think you guys should shorten the podcasts to 60 min but do it more often (every 3 weeks) and talk about whatever games you want!

As one who flew a similar build at Worlds, yeah, games are taking longer... I think it's a consideration to build fleets that can end a match quickly. That being said, during the playoffs, I felt that the match should have went 3 hrs! I mean... it's the PLAYOFFS!

Star Wars Destiny: It's inevitable that y'all will play it... just embrace it... don't resist the power of the dark side!

That extra time is only in FFG tournament rules....oh wait.... :)

Yay!!! Listening now.. on oxy.... lol best time ever.

I think the awkward wording of Navigation Hazards is to cover situations when a ship overlaps more than one obstacle. Basically, you never get more than one objective token.

Quite funny really, but as usual my attention fizzled before reaching actual Armada talk :D

*high five* @ green

Half way through now...And you're talking armada non-stop :-D

I'm offended. Not enough talk about our one true deity Cthulhu. His insanity is a blessing.

But really, thanks for the new content. Gives me something to listen to while I work in a dry box for several hours. In regards to what you should do going forward, do what ever makes you guys happy. Hate for us nerds to hold you down while we force you to talk about Armada when the game hits a lull. I'm fairly certain if you talked about other games, people will still listen. Just splash in Armada once in a while. I think you should stay IFF and keep the same branding/theme you have. Similar to what Day9 did after he stopped streaming StarCraft content.

Gave it a re-listen this morning. Great cast, as always, thanks for recording again!

That said, I've got to say I'd probably not listen to the non-Armada subject matter if you guys take it in the all-our-games direction. I just don't personally care about any of those other games--IA, X-wing, Guild Ball, Destiny... Which would be a shame, because I love what you guys bring to the community.

Of course, obviously you guys are under no obligation to us, you'll do with your podcast what you want. I would recommend maybe theming your individual episodes to a specific game, though, if you do diversify. Go with Q's suggestion of shorter, more frequent episodes, and just break them out by what game you're focusing on. Just structure them like you do episodes now: a bit at the beginning about ALL the stuff you do, and then the meat of the episode can be about whatever the game of the week/month/quarter is. I'm sure there are IA players who would listen IFF[iA] but don't care about Armada--this would be a good way to draw in all the potential listeners.

And who knows? People like me might just get so starved for content--or miss the alcoholic moff's dulcet voice so much--that we tune in anyway. Though I've also been listening to Comms Noise recently, and those guys are great, too...

I wouldn't mind y'all going to wherever your heart desires on the IFF Podcast. (I personally like IA) However I do think it is just the natural lull after Regionals (the last ones anyway) and before the new stuff comes out. There really isn't a ton of stuff to talk about right now.

You covered what there was, the new Objectives and CC Squadrons. When the ships are revealed, and we are playing the Campaign, I believe there will be A LOT to talk about and you will feel invigorated...

There will be a new "rigidness" to the Flesh Star Destroyer.

Finals match was over turn two

Finals match was over turn two

Yup, a definite error on Justin's part, as he himself will freely tell you. Should have delayed activating Haven until later in the turn to mitigate the damage the Y-wings could push through, which would have guaranteed it lasted until turn 3 when he really needed it there. Losing the Haven early had a dramatic cascading effect because it didn't counter-threaten anymore, allowing JJ to push Admonition through to clean up the fleet without fear of reprisal.

Lol! Man I am never going to live that down! What a choker. Funny thing is if I did that game a 1000 times in casual play I would have waited out the activation like I do every other time with my list. I blame mental fatigue and lack of sleep.
