IG-88A and tractor beam

By IG88E, in X-Wing Rules Questions

When I tractor beam an enemy ship onto an asteroid and it gets destroyed there, does IG-88A's ability trigger (regen of shield)?

Does the tractor beam movement still counts as resolving the attack?

I want to say no, but for some reason I seem to remember a weird ruling that let Boba Fett crew discard something even if the damage didn't come directly from the attack.

From the FAQ: A ship equipped with Boba Fett can use his ability if the defender was dealt
a faceup Damage card from any source during that ship’s attack.
I am thinking that yes, IG88A's ability will trigger.

I'm leaning towards IG-88A initiated the attack that destroyed the enemy ship, and because it was during IG-88A's activation, he should get to regen a shield. After all, he tractored it onto the asteroid with the hopeful intention that it would take damage and possibly destroy it, so it seems logical. I can't see any reason why IG-88A shouldn't be able to trigger.

Is resolving attack effect part of the attack? Of course.

Is tractoring someone into debris resolution of an attack? Of course.

So does destroying someone due to TB into asteroid part of the attack? Yes.

Here is your answer.
