Gack. No.

You made a new order of force users and I'm joining you

I'm having the most awful space flashbacks right now.

I am pretty OK with this. Especially since I base all of my games in a non-canon galaxy of chaos created by the terrorists known as the Rebel Alliance after their assassination of the Emperor and all of his clear immediate successors over a five year period.

Though I'm sure you don't mean that they actually are terrorists

Rebels aren't terrorists and your response is a little strange to me.

Is that a Despair on a Perception check for a Snark?

Some rebels (small "r") absolutely were terrorists, but the Rebels (big "R") organized by Organa and Mothma were opposed to terrorist tactics. That's not to say that some rebels didn't clean up and become Rebels, and I would be surprised if a number of Rebels didn't fall from grace and become rebels.

The biggest difference between terrorists and revolutionaries is perspective.

Of course that may sound overly simplistic and that's because it is. There are many other differences such as what kind of targets each go after and whatnot but even the most die hard and evil terrorists believe they are doing the right thing.

There are psychos who do that kind of stuff just for kicks, or just because they can.

But I don’t know whether or not they would be characterized as terrorists.

This is so close to becoming MarcyVerse canon!

(Arguably it already is, as following the Sentinel book, we all had a blast deciding how many non-Sith Jedi were actually dark-siders (spoiler: lots and lots of them)

And we already have Alliance terrorists. More than one SpecForce team has gone 'rogue' doing questionable things far from the lofty ideal of High Command. Our own AOE group had to torture interrogate their own prisoners until Katie came along to do it without the use of a blowtorch. Then there's that little project that turns frightened little girls into battlefield killers trains the Alliance sensitives to fight Jedi and throw ATATs around.

At least one of the PCs is more like Frank 'the Punisher' Castle when it comes to the Empire; her favourite trick is to rig a droid with explosives and a cam-droid, so she can see the face on the Imperial Officer when it blows up him and his family over dinner. The rest of the team have to keep a close eye on her, because she likes to take 'trophies' from stormtroopers and clone troopers if they don't stop her.

And there's a huge split in High Command itself between the high-minded races like the Gran, Mon Cal and Ithorians, and the ruthless, amoral leader of the human faction (who's also a PC...)

(We have many decent, high-minded good-aligned types too, but one of the main aims of our Factions was not to have all the Bad Guys on one side and all the Good Guys on another....)

The Rebel Alliance is a covert extra-governmental organization that uses military tactics and destruction of public property to achieve political change and overthrow the duly appointed governing body. Never mind that they are, generally, more morally in the clear and that the Empire is a repressive regime that came to power through unjust means, they are terrorists. At least within the confines of the first six movies produced.

Now I happen to side with their goals, but expecting a galactic government switch back over night to a system that fell apart a generation and a half ago seems a little naive. If only for the reason that the galaxies hundreds of non-human species would likely never trust humans to be in power with in the next couple of centuries.

The Rebel Alliance is not a terrorist organization. It does not attack public property; it attacks Imperial military targets and the industrial base that supports the Imperial military. They also do not weaponize fear, which is pretty core to defining terrorism.

Finnaly someone knows what terrorism is

This has turned into "Are Rebels terrorists?" Unrelatedly, the leader of the Beige Jedi is Darth Revan.

Darth Reven wow . in star wars KOTOR Darth Reven used to be a jedi

THEN I WAS A SITH, BUT TURNED BACK TO THE LIGHT WHEN I LOST MY MEMORY, WHEN I REMEMBERED WHO I WAS I BECAME BOTH MASTER OF THE LIGHT AND DARKSIDES OF THE FORCE, BUT BECAUSE I WAS SO UBER I WENT TO FIGHT THE TRUE TRUE SITH, BUT I LOST, SO I WAS KEPT ALIVE FOR 300 YEARS BECAUSE TRUE HEROES NEVER DIE AND I BROKE FREE AND FOUGHT THE SITH AGAIN BECAUSE I'M A BADASS AND MASTER OF BOTH DARK AND LIGHT, then some scrubs killed me. :(

Revan was interesting, but by the end of his history he really did sound like a egotistic player's wet dream.

Hmmmmm, interesting
