One of my players pointed out that the river seems to flow through the Chasm space. I'd never noticed this before. Does crossing the Chasm count as crossing the river?

Talking getting rid of the Poltergeist I assume? Technically, I suppose you're crossing the River, but, won't rid you of the 'geist, because the card reads: "...crossing the River, either by bridge, raft or ferry."
On 2nd edition board you won't see any river flowing at the bottom of the Chasm. The new 3D artwork decided to put a small river there, I think just to give the map a better look.
But crossing the river is crossing the river. The problem is that this river is IN a space and not between 2 spaces. You can't know when you cross it, especially in the case which surely has triggered your thought (Poltergeist). If you move one space at a time, do you cross the river at the bottom of the Chasm when you land on the Chasm or when you leave the Chasm?
I think the better way to handle it is to ignore the artwork and consider only the Storm river around the Middle Region, plus the two bridges near the Village and the City. No other ways to cross a river should be allowed.

I suppose Water Walking Spell and Flying Boots work as well.
