Vessery in a tie/D with OL and Inquisitor.

The tie/D title is not getting a lot of love these days, mostly because x/7 is awesome. I guess Vessery is the best candidate for the tie/D title because he gets target lock for both his attacks if the setup is right. Vessery was semi-viable before the Defender buffs so I figure he might be worth building around without the x/7 title.

In any case here is my list (Im sure its been posted a number of times since its fairly cliche but still...)

Vessery/IonCannon/VI/D-title 39 pts

Omega Leader/Comm/Juke 26 pts

Inquisitor/PtL/Prockets/title/AT 34 pts

Clocks in at 99 points for 1 point initiative bid. A pretty aggressive list with Prockets and a double shot from Vessery. Still has some long-game legs with Omega Leader lurking, waiting for a 1v1 in the end. All pilots at PS8 which makes maneuvering easier.

This was the exact same build I came up with when Vets dropped. One change is to go more defensive and change prockets to stealth device on OL.

That being said I have a very small sample size but it played well. It just got overshadowed by Jumps and then Dengaroo.

I also like SD on OL but I would pay for it by dropping Vessery down to a tractor beam. You lose one point of damage from the Ion Cannon but the reduced agility will often help you squeeze more hits out of your remaining attacks. Dengar in particular suffers from -1 Agility, even if you cannot actually tow him about.

I ran a very similar list at a tournament a little while back. It's pretty solid, but...

1) People don't like Defenders, need will get focused down hard.

2) If he doesn't, he's actually the worst ship to have in the end game as he relies in the other two to generate Locks.

3) PS is a big factor, you will suffer against PS9 plus

I'm loving a similar list, but with Vader instead of the Inquisitor.

It gives you the chance to run all at 8, shooting Vader last to hopefully get the crit through or jump Vader up to 10 against 9's or 10's (hopefully you win the bid and move second). No AT can be difficult to het used to though.

I'll echo this. SD on OL makes him incredibly frustrating in a 1v1 scenario if he's your last ship.
