Hear me out.
It can grab expended munitions from space.
It can also retrieve the Chimp who was riding on my Assault Missile.
But it cannot grab Boba Fett who got kicked out of airlock.
Scavenger Crane doesn't make sense
Boba Fett places a bomb on one of your opponents ships before deployment. He's not in the airlock, he's just riding shotgun with the trigger switch.
Boba was hired for one job. To quote Alex Davies when the card was announced "If you wanted him to stick around, you should have paid him more".
