PSA: Tutorial and Walk-Through Videos for Arkham Horror LCG

By dewbie420, in Arkham Horror: The Card Game

This week I saw quite of few videos pulled or edited because of errors and I just wanna let folks know to not only beware the Mythos but to beware bad videos as well...

I am happy that I scored a core set the week it was released and I have been learning the rules & having fun playing BUT I feel sorry for those out there that may be only watching YouTube vids on the Arkham Horror LCG. They might be aware of the many many mistakes and errors that are being made by enthusiastic, early reviewers. Not to mention SPOILERS that will ruin some of the fun. Of course some videos are better than others AND some do great jobs at not spoiling. Game play terms are often confused and rules will get flubbed in these first round of video offerings.

My advice: stay away from any 'walk-throughs' and tutorials out there. Stick to the unboxing vids and download the Learn to Play & Rules Reference PDF's until you actually play it.

I have noticed ONE channel dedicated to getting things correct and is very useful (& funny if wait til the very end of each upload), Arkham Chronicle YouTube Channel. I'm sure there will be more high-quality tutorials soon, just not yet.

Really strange that FFG hasn't done one yet. Maybe they don't want to spoil part of a scenario .. hm.

Wow. Seriously wow. Playing these games solo is hard because you are essentially playing two decks against yourself. I really doubt I have ever managed a single play though error free. And I give major props to anyone who not only tries it, but records it and puts it up for scrutiny online.

haha love the little post-credit sequences (worth watching from episode 2 onward). Thanks for sharing

What he said!! Warts and all; a fair amount of the videos are well done and at least give you a good idea of how play goes. It's still up to the player to go through the books, but don't serious gamers do that. Enough said on that. Thanks for pointing out the videos. That guy is a real hoot.

Just giving dewbie420’s excellent advice and channel recommendation a bump.
