Hello! I am fairly new to Imperial Assault but have been playing wargames for most of my life... I love the skirmish side as some light relief from my other, more rules-heavy wargames. That's not to say I dislike it, far from it, and I really want to get better at it in order to do some local tournaments. In that vein, I want some feedback on a scum list I have been running.

I'm interested to know what to add, remove and consider. With christmas coming up I will be grabbing some bits in sales hopefully. I already know I want Bossk to replace IG-88 but that leaves a 4 point hole. Fill it with another Nexu? I want to pick up Under Durress as that sees like a good way to leverage the Strain mechanic.

You could do something like this easily

you could also swap the eTrando for regular and keep your Dev Scheme and upgrade one nexu to elite

you could also squeeze in an ugnaught tinkerer which are good harasser/terminal sitters

You'll find that IG-88 doesn't do enough for his cost, and that trandos are pretty meh overall, suffering from lack of range, lack of damage, and lack of survivability.

The strain mechanic isn't very strong at the moment.

I would suggest possibly picking up Jabba the Hutt when he's released, and also look at getting Jabba's Realm box, and even Return to Hoth (for the HK's)

Look at what you're budget is like, and what deals you can find.

Extra Nexu are good, but also look at getting the Bantha Rider (for beast tamer)

Even with 'Under Duress'? Is Leia a bigger issue than I think she is?

I hadn't consider getting hired guns or greedo but definitely swapping in Bossk for IG-88. He seems much stronger, especially against the trooper style lists.

Under Duress only works if they take the strain, which in a lot of lists they will just each the damage (not double damage) which means you gave the opponent a 2pt leg up. Imperial and Rebels are going to have more health than you (mercenary) anyway and frequently have a way to regenerate it.

I Like the strain idea and the original list you posted.Majushi's probably right about the Jabba expansions having a huge impact, but since they're not here. I have 2 lists devoted to strain. I'm most excited about the Bantha list, which is more like yours but I expect will have LoS issues:
