Oicunn/Soontir

So I decided to try and put together a list of my two favorite pilots in the game. Luckily for me they are both Imperial and fit in the same list!

Its not a "current wave" list but I think it is OK.


OICUNN/FEL 100 points
Captain Oicunn (65) VT-49 Decimator (42), Lone Wolf (2), Conner Net (4), Emperor Palpatine (8), Rebel Captive (3), Extra Munitions (2), Dauntless (2), Anti-Pursuit Lasers (2)
Soontir Fel (35) TIE Interceptor (27), Royal Guard TIE (0), Push the Limit (3), Autothrusters (2), Stealth Device (3)
I will change out the Rebel Captive for Kylo Ren when he comes out. That will definitely make the title worth it, if the Conner Nets don't already. The goal is to ram and drop the net if the get sneaky and get behind me, or lose down approach lanes. If I miss and they hit me, the APL should hopefully hit once in a while.

Looks interesting, have you tried it in any games lately?

My prefernce is to have a lighter decimator. If you get caught with a couple of guns on you early, it could be over.

What do you do with the extra points, go to a Whisper?

I went black squad with crackshot. I didnt run palp. I think most 60 point deci's are RAC with engine upgrade so they can arc dodge.

I took this to a store championship early in 2016. I could have done better but i beat 2 store champs and a second place finisher from the 2016 covenant store championshi

Did Mara Jade proc much? I've found most ships generally stress themselves anyway so she has no effect, or will just choose a green maneuver to shed stress the next round. I suppose it's useful if getting close to the edge of the board.

Some. It can keep rebels from kturning behind you. I did probably forget to use it some as well. I wouldnt call her integral to the build but you are trying to get range one with oicunn anyway.

If it doesn't proc much, K-turning rebels are not a big concern with the PWT and no ordinance. You can drop her, piut SD back on Soontir and still have 2 points for a decent crew like Agent Kallus or tactician.

Looks interesting, I like what your going for. I personally think engine upgrade can do tons to help you save oicunn. I like to think of oicunn ability as more of a bonus then a game plan. Plus hitting a ship, damaging it, then boosting over it and out of arc is one super sweet move. Maybe dropping extra munitions for it, and of course apl.. looks sweet though, great combo of ships.

I didn't think of that combo - EU & Dauntless. That might have swung me over to you side.

Edit: Wasn't sure this would work so I looked it up I thought that the boost maneuver template couldn't overlap a ship, making boosting from a ship you touched pretty hard, but I found this on the X-Wing Wiki:

A ship cannot boost if it would overlap another ship or an obstacle token, or if the maneuver template would overlap an obstacle token.

Seems like it would work, just cant land on it (or another ship). Does this indeed allow you to boost off of a ship?

As long as you do not bump after boosting, it does. While i'm using Dauntless, i favour the EU, Daredevil, Dauntless combo. If done properly you can deal 2 points of damage in one turn.
