Soooo after seeing the spoiler article for the Quadjumper and the craziness that is Scavenger Crane, I thought back to a crazy experiment of mine involving the rarely (Aka NEVER) used salvaged astromech… “Genius”
Long story short, it was me testing if a Y-wing with Genius & Engine Upgrade could ‘escape’ the blast-radius of its bomb. The result? It can.
Combine that knowledge with a sample build I saw of the Z-95 pilot N’Dru Suhlak involving the usual Lone Wolf, Guidance Chips, and Cluster Missiles coupled with the new Scavenger Crane…
I present Scum Munitions Shenanigans:
Z-95 Headhunter – N’Dru Suhlak (17)
Lone Wolf (2)
Cluster Missiles (4)
Scavenger Crane (2)
Guidance Chips (0)
Total: 25
Quadjumper – Constable Zuvio (19)
VI (1)
Proton Bombs (5)
Scavenger Crane (2)
Bombardier (1)
Pattern Analyzer (2)
Spacetug Tractor Array (2)
Total: 32
Y-Wing – Kavil (24)
VI (1)
Twin Laser Turret (6)
“Genius” (0)
Bomb Loadout (0)
Extra Munitions (2)
Proton Bombs (5)
Engine Upgrade (4)
Total: 42
List Total: 99
Is this a list full of gimmicks? Yup. Do I love it? Yup.
Kavil rushes in doing his 3’s (Sadly not green due to no Unhinged, but otherwise the bombs won’t work as intended), drops his Proton Bomb after moving, then boosts out of the way. If it works, he’s just dropped a Proton Bomb on the target(s), gotten out of arc, and has a TLT shot w/ extra dice all lined up. (Considering moving him to a Dorsal turret, as the above maneuver probably will put him too close to TLT most of the time.)
Constable Zuvio reveals a reverse maneuver, allowing him to drop his Proton Bomb out of his front guides, with Bombardier allowing him to drop it at range 1 or 2. Either way, he will clear the blast radius with his reversal. Before getting a stress from backing up, Pattern Analyzer lets him take his action. Now this could either be his standard focus or barrel roll, or he could trigger Spacetug Tractor Array to potentially just toss an enemy ship; it all depends on the situation! Between the bomb & his firing, coupled with supporting fire, killing an enemy ship would allow Scavenger Crane to trigger, restoring his bomb for use once again.
N’Dru Suhlak is probably the simplest of the bunch, seeing as only 1 new card is on him, and otherwise he is pretty standard. Deploys on the outside, comes around, hoping to lob that 8-dice (4 & 4) Cluster Missile at someone… But if he manages to get a kill (Or assists with one), guess what? He gets his Cluster Missiles back!
Between the (multiple) Proton Bombs and N’Dru potentially lobbing 8 dice in a single round, I can't wait to see how this list works out! Wave 10 can’t come fast enough.
Any & all comments/criticisms are more than welcome! I've only been flying since around June.
