I took one of my favorite Wave 1 tactics (the Trailer) and updated the fleet with the newer ships and upgrades.

I think the trailer is a really solid discussion point. I've found a gladiator works as a suitable equivalent for imps, keeping behind the star destroyers and then using its speed to run down on anything that gets past them.

Yep, I've used Gladiators in the role and Raiders can do it too. Whatever you use, the key seems to be patience.

I'm hoping to do more battle reports like this that focus more on formations and tactics than the fleet builds.

So here's a thought. I've come to really love the Comms Net flotilla. What if you swapped Garm out for Ackbar and added 2 Comms net flotillas? Not sure how you would fit the points, but you get the firepower boost of Ackbar and still get token boosts with the floats. I've been playing around with a list that is using this idea, have only played it once so far though.

What you're describing is not too far from the fleet I took to GenCon this year. Although I used Tantive IV for the tokens instead of flotillas (as they weren't released yet). It worked out really well actually.

Serendipitously received... I've been using demo as a "trailer" for lots of matches now and it really feels at home there. ..now nothing escapes anymore and scores go up and up!

I know I got caught up in testing out upgrade combos and got away from playing with formations and maneuvers. After playing around with a Trailer again I'm looking forward to spending more time focused on interesting formations.
