And what about this Event tickets?

So will it be like 30GBP?

I will not need to buy Three Day Adult Ticket for additional 28GBP?

It very confusing - I think you need a £28 three day pass and £24 for the Armada Entry ticket.

The £6 quoted in your link should say 'from £6' as if you look at the games on offer (Armada is classified as a Boardgame) they are all £6 except for Armada which is £24.

So, as far i can tell - you need an Event ticket (which for Armada will need to be a three day one unless you don't plan on making the cut) which is £28 and an event ticket which is £24. So total £52.

It is here.

Everyone attending the show needs a show Entry Ticket. This gives full access to the Trade Halls, Demo games, Open Gaming Area, Family Zone, Playtest, and Seminars.

In addition if you want to play in any Tournament or Roleplaying Game there is an additional Event Fee as specified on each Event Page

So you will need to pay the £ 28 (Entry Ticket) for the 3 days for the event and in addition the £ 24 (Event Fee) for the armada tournament.

Ok,

ticket - check

plane ticket - check

hostel with bunch of X-wing dudes - check

Now the worse... waiting :D

closer to the event now, maybe we can get some more names here of people playing.

Definitly looking forward to finally meet some Forum guys!

How you have the awesomest time!

Whatever our current balance discussions, can I rest assured that the Hammerheads and the Quasar dont make it in time for the Europeans?

I dont know FFGs rules in those cases (is it two weeks?), but I guess since its still on the boat it cant be in time.

It will be super fun to watch what people take there so close after *this* ?

European Championships are likely to be Premier Tier (Nationals + Worlds Class)

If that's the case, to be legal In the US in that case, they'd have to be released for 11 days beforehand.

International Distributors, generally speaking wait for 11 days after their own release, not just the US release (although there is a concerted effort on Asmodee's part to line those up).

With it being on June 2nd, they would have to be released (in the US), in Mid-May.

To be released in Mid-May, they'd have to be getting Shipping Now basically today, or first thing next week.

I knew you would answer that competently, many thx!

No Worries - in Short, highly unlikely, but weirder and more corner things have happened.

But on the unlikely side of things - since "European" often involves translations which slows things down - even though its UK based, its billed as Euro, so more likely to be ruled Not-Counting even if they were on the Shipping Now today, because I know a lot of places in Europe only consider legal when its in local-language.

Theres a point.

Are we going to have a mix of card languages present?

There is no single EU distributor so not sure if esvedium or FFG reside on this. I think FFG

You're likely to see a Mix... In the other games you already see Spanish / French Cards a bunch... They are perfectly Legal in a cross-competition.

From what I have been told, is that there is a Preference for English Language if the Card Text Differs between language interpretations, effectively - as FAQs are Provided in English Language only.

( I asked FFG because Canada / French, but it applies to Europe more often)

I will bring English only, and in Germany last year English ones werent s problem. I dont foresee any trouble, why not allowing any language as long as the English version counts in case of doubt.

:) Just thinking out loud that I might end up doing a fair bit of translation thats all.

:)

thx Gink for that!

Absolutely love it, the harder the better. Its juuuuuuust that this schedule, unexpected as it is, messes a bit with flights, organizers could have let out those details a bit earlier (not only local Englishmen competing).

I tried to take a late flight back, but not so late as to manage this schedule. On the other hand, my chances to reach the cut are not that high, anyway, lol.

So 8 games in any case, great stuff, looking forward to it. Warm up those engines, Aces ;)

As for the team event, that would be nice to attend in case the cut is not made.

as an afterthought: Right now about 45 players registered, if that stays about the same, I dont think they will do as announced. It just says "planned", after all.

Indeed - but 8 games would be pretty awesome. Hope they stick to the plan regardless of numbers.

How many players and rounds do they normally get at GenCon for the North American tournament?

Got my tickets, preparing my list, and train/accommodation is booked. Roll on Euros, can't wait!!

List-wise its a headache, though. I'll get this off me, interesting or not.

Going to Europeans is an investment, flight, hotel, registration, time away from family. Next to a good time you naturally want to do well also, as competitive player why bother otherwise?

As a rebel player, I got comfortable with an MC80 command and Yavaris under Rieekan for a long time. Turns out 4 ships are not as good as 5, and an AFK is not so much worse than an MC80 command (and better in some aspects),, and after Worlds, some people see Rieekan and probably cry "cheap". And I dont want to imagine the "told you so" threads created should Rieekan win again. Some will inevitably and understandably play him, nonetheless, and the success of any counters at worlds was, well, limited. No doubt there are lists and good players who beat Rieekan aces, but a tourney is about best chances, and that means fly what you comfortable with and maximise advantages given to you by FFG. Also, there are bomber heavy lists (conventional and otherwise), how to counter them if not with persistent squads on your own side.

Next to the blast this will be, it will also be a tricky environment. I cant deny a certain pull.

So the winner and runner-up will have played 12 games of Armada over 3 days?! Holy cow.

only 10 matches. Its a cut on top 4. Even when they write as well about a top 16 cut :P. But this is a copy/paste error.

A cut to top 16 with only ~45 player would be a little overkill.

guess so :)

Haha but the Flight Controllers Spanish wording was pretty clear about it working on snipe ?

Btw, where the European will be?

Birmingham, England
