24th and a lot of learning. I think I finally understand formation flying. Fortunately, my hiatus is up, i can fly mc30s again! (Been avoiding them for almost a year as I had fleet builders block)

Was a fantastic couple of days! 7 great opponents and 7 very fun games. Very happy with 13th best of luck to all you guys who made the cut!

Ben has ISD I carrier with 4 gozanti (2 bcc) and 13 squadrons. Admiral motti.

4 tie fighter, 5 tie bomber, 2 jumpmaster, mauler, rhymer.

Aresius has MC80 liberty, 5 transports, and 10 squadrons. Admiral dodonna.

5 a-wings, 2 vcx, 1 hwk, tycho, shara.

I have demo and 5 gotanti (one jamming field, one chiraneau, one bcc) and 10 squadrons. Admiral tarkin.

Stele, jendon, rhymer, mauler, valen, saber, gamma, black, 2 tie bomber.

Not sure about alex.

Alex has a fully loaded Ackbar Mc80 defiance and five...

About the scores:

And so on with 1-3 player on each score. I made a picture of the score. But need to do it on pc not on smartphone ?.

The last one (place 46 after drops) had a score of 28.

We had 10 drops. Started with 56 players.

I feel sorry for alex, when he has to play against ben (again?). The tops were this close all the time. I played against ben and areaius earlier in the rounds.

Boy how about them transports and squads!!

Can we pretend World's never happened and this was the only important tournament since November? Because even with all those Flotillas, at least they look like you could have fun trying to beat them.

Also, go @Dr alex! No squads, no flotillas, no mercy!

Good news.. no Rieekan spam.. bad news, twice as many flotillas as the top 4 at worlds.. lateral movement is better than losing ground I suppose..

Rieekan was never ever the problem. When an entire Canadian gaming group, containing known skilled players, turns up with the same list its going to do well. The race for activations is definitely a thing.

Outside of those three, anyone with six plus activations really hampered their squad game because I believe no one else had more than 3 flotillas. Somewhere around 90% of lists were 5 activations and it meant a lot of tight games resulting in 6-5's and 7-4's all over the place. The extra activation these guys have got them to the top tables, their skill kept them there.

Danielle in 5th had 7 activations.

I advise that if people want to discuss these results in depth and what they mean for the game that they start a new thread. NebB and myself will be commentating soon on the semis.

For me personally. I need to be able to spread my fleet across the full table naturally to herd flotillas in. My Ackbar Star Destroyers did this naturally so I start there. A single damage ship, aka ISD, doesnt give you overall board control.

Aside from being mostly a team effort, the Rieekan spam lists had twice as many non-flotillas as these lists. One ship and max flotillas and squads is more telling than worlds that flotillas are a problem.

Six of the top eight lists at Worlds were Rieekan. I don't know the exact number, but I came in 5th and know mine and at least the top 4 had more flotillas than combat ships, and I would wager the top ten had a similar result. Rieekan's high performance may have distracted from it, but flotilla ubiquity was definitely a thing at Worlds, as in having more flots than actual combat ships.
