For those with two core sets.

By Cotgrave, in Arkham Horror: The Card Game

Hello all,

A couple of questions for those with two core sets and LCG know how! About to leap into this after having to (painfully) wait while work eased up a bit. My wife and I are playing and obtained two core sets because, well, that's what she wanted to do..

First question. As the chaos bag doesn't deplete in any way, can we use two chaos bags set up the same way to speed things up? I figured this is a no brainier but those with mysterious and freaky math skills might (again) trounce my conceptions of reality and all that is good.

That said it really just sets up my next question in context: Can two players using two bags set them up differently without adverse effect?

Let me explain. My wife will want to be story-centric and will wish the Easy Campaign mode. I on the other hand would like a bit more a challenge from my side of the table and want to use the Standard difficulty. If we stick to our own bags with the understanding that it will effect the game 'somewhere in the middle' is this even functional?

Thank you for your thoughts!

(1) Yep.

(2) Sure, why not? She may do more of the heavy lifting for an episode as a result given a lower risk of failure, but it's a way to balance skill levels between players.

Wonderful!

Thanks Hawkstrike :)

No reason this wouldn't work out fine. The one thing I will point out is that scenario cards can vary the values of the icon chaos tokens based on difficulty. Though IIRC standard and easy share the same values in the core set.

They do. Scenario cards have only 2 sides (physics will get you every time :P). In the core set, they're Easy/Standard and Hard/Expert. Further scenarios could divide the difficulty levels differently, or even have 2 cards to cover all 4 levels separately.

I'd try it on easy first anyway - In my experience Easy has been difficult enough so far - although I've only played 1 handed solo
