Why no GT on the ISD I to get anti-squad shots out your front arc?

Why no GT on the ISD I to get anti-squad shots out your front arc?

Which objective are you picking?

You forgot about squadrons.

Most will go for superior positions because there are a lot of potential points on offer in your generous rear arcs...

Most will go for superior positions because there are a lot of potential points on offer in your generous rear arcs...

Which will make it so much easier to unload the obscene salvo in a single turn! Cant score points if the ships are dead!

You may find that Demo isn't as good when you're a second player and outactivated.

I agree with the point about no GT on the ISD-I, but mostly because you have Kallus on there. Why even have Kallus at all? You have QLTs on there, sure, but it's not even your flagship. You've spent 8 points on AS upgrades (OE half counts on the ISD-I)...and that's all you have. If I had squads, I'd just attack your flagship, which can't do anything except a 2-blue shot against squads.

I'd think you'd want to spend those points on another IO and go with a full ship strategy.

And a picayune thing, but Avenger with Xi7 would be redundant in some situations. Not always, and more than likely not in all situations, but just the IO on Demolisher (kills a token instead of exhausting it), H9 on the other ISD (prevents opponent from exhausting token), and then Avenger on the final ISD just doesn't seem to jive. Now I know it's awesome when your opponent chooses Advanced Gunnery, and you get to attack twice with avenger, but all other times it just doesn't synergize as well as switching up some of the upgrades. Like IO on the Avenger. This way they can't use their exhausted defense token, and you can kill the readied redundant token. My 2-cents

but ginkapo, large ships r dead.... ;)

i would probably try something like this

Faction: Galactic Empire
Points: 395/400

Commander: Admiral Motti

Assault Objective: Most Wanted
Defense Objective: Hyperspace Assault
Navigation Objective: Minefields

Imperial II-Class Star Destroyer (120 points)
- Gunnery Team ( 7 points)
- Electronic Countermeasures ( 7 points)
- X17 Turbolasers ( 6 points)
- Leading Shots ( 4 points)
= 144 total ship cost

Imperial I-Class Star Destroyer (110 points)
- Gunnery Team ( 7 points)
- X17 Turbolasers ( 6 points)
- Leading Shots ( 4 points)
= 127 total ship cost

Gladiator I-Class Star Destroyer (56 points)
- Demolisher ( 10 points)
- Ordnance Experts ( 4 points)
- Assault Proton Torpedoes ( 5 points)
= 75 total ship cost

[ flagship ] Gozanti-class Cruisers (23 points)
- Admiral Motti ( 24 points)
- Comms Net ( 2 points)
= 49 total ship cost

you may find that without bombers, you'll want all the xi7 you can get in order to get damage onto the hull.... also avenger is neat but im not sure you'll always get to activate in the right order to get avenger to go off... i'd stick demo in the back to kinda just clean up the scraps that make it past the isd's, so you likely dont need ET... bringing gozanti lets you take MW, should be safe in the back... superior positions feels like a liabilty without squads.... i'd probably choose solar corona if we had it, but i think minefields isnt horrible... DT might also be ok... honestly though im scared... yvaris has no trouble bringing down an ISD in a turn and a bit... activating last then first with some b's will do it, as you well know.. i dont know how we're going to get by that....

I didn't even look at the objectives.

You're not wrong...

...but its still the best 10 points he could spend on the glad.
