So I am going to participate in my first tournament (local store, but level is deemed high) next Saturday and was wondering if my chosen list (at the moment) could be improved, or if you have better squadron ideas considering the fleet I have.

So this is my fleet (Note : I have been playing since September, and tried to get Imperial mainly but also a few rebel / scum ships for diversity while playing with friends) :

- Millenium falcon

- Tie interceptor

- B-wing

- E-Wing

- Tie Phantom

- Most Wanted

And list :

"Whisper" (41) - TIE Phantom
Veteran Instincts (1), Fire Control System (2), Tactician (2), Advanced Cloaking Device (4)

Countess Ryad (32) - TIE Defender

"Omega Leader" (26) - TIE/FO Fighter
Juke (2), Comm Relay (3)

Of course no proxy allowed.

I played this list a few times, and it works quite ok, Countess in the middle trying to survive, whisper flanking staying at range 2 and OL on the other side trying to annoy as most as possible. Challenge I think would be against high agility + high PS ships, where I do not have that many tools to punch through, or control.

I like tactician since if the targeted ship just made a red manoeuver he gets a second stress, and is very diminished.

It looks like you have a point left. A 1 point bid for Whisper is not very reliable, I wonder if it would be more useful as Crack Shot on Ryad. It would held punch through high AGI stuff, at least for a turn.

Yes 99 pts list. You're right I suppose that on a 24 players tournament, I might not be the only one to fly Whisper. So you would drop Tactician and put Crack shot on Ryad ?

I would do Juke on Ryad! Don't know the wiki well enough to know if you have it.

And not just OL, you have PS9 Whisper shooting first with FCS. Auto target lock with Whisper, and a 4 die attack should strip some tokens as well. You could also go crackshot Vess and give intel agent to Whisper to help her with decloaking, and also able to use OL or Vessery as blockers against Fenn Rau and such.

Why not upgrade Ryad to Vessery? He can grab TLs from both OL and Whisper, to make his shots more reliable. Trickshot is an excellent 0 pt EPT for Vessery too.

Juke seems like a very good idea for Vessery but I only have it in one copy.

I do not have Trickshot either.

Therefore I was thinking something like this, replacing OL by Zeta Leader and put Juke on Vess :

Nope, he won't be able to do that job.

Do not look at initiative bid that much. Dengaroo will have like 97, and there is plenty of lists now that take Rey PS10, or Poe with PS over 9 which makes Whisper a bit less reliable (little chance to shoot first).

I would keep the original list.

I would also consider taking either, the initiative bid or Crack shot. 1 point of a bid is not THAT much and that will definitely not ensure that you may shoot first. On the other hand, it is always good to be somehow safe against some crazy, random lists which comes up at 100 in most cases.

On the other hand, the Crack Shot gives you an option to push through 1 point of damage. Probably, you will use it in every game because you have no other modifications for the attack (you want to take evade and focus every turn, and need those for defense so even if opponent is lower PS, you still don't want to spend that focus on attack).

Summing up: PS bid will be really situational, and in case of facing opponents that are experienced with their lists will not give you that much of advantage, but in case of several games this factor may be as important as winning or losing (because the opponent PS9 will shoot at Whisper before she gets additional green dice). Crack shot is more reliable but you will not notice that big "wow" and in most cases this will not win/lose games for you.

I just hope Whisper will not draw too many focused fire if I play her on the flank
