Did you know that about the Arquitens-class light cruiser?

By Coldhands, in Star Wars: Armada

This post is just slightly related actually to Armada, but still...

Today, I was watching S2E9 of Star Wars: Clone Wars. In a scene, a familiar ship appeared: god ****, that looks like an Arquitens! I made a research, and indeed it was an arquitens-class light cruiser. So what, you could say. In prediction for next waves topic, some people wrote about wishing to see Venator, Acclamator. I Thought these were a bit wild ideas, clone war era ships in rebellion era? C'mon... And what do we get now? Okay, okay, the ship appears in Star Wars: Rebels too, but that ship is still a clone war era vessel! Meaning what? Those wild ideas might come true...

No offense but do you guys have to keep using the GD word to describe a miniature? I'm not soft skinned by any means but I am finding it Offensive.

Yeah, we knew that already :-D

I'm not meaning to call anyone person out I'm just tired of seeing it in multiple threads.

I'm sorry it offends you.

But its automatically censored by FFG.

That is enough.

I think he means thou shalt not take the Lord's name in vain. Referring to the asterisked exclamation in the OP.

Anyway, back to the Arquitens! Yeah, a bunch of the ships we see flying around are old relics of the Republic fleet. Including the VSD.

The Arquitens isn't the only ship from the Clone Wars that's made a regular appearance on Rebels. The Gozanti-class was a Separatist ship, seen in the background of Separatist fleets in some of the later seasons, and it's also the ship that Padme and Ahsoka took to get to the Separatist core world.

I wasn't surprised at all when I saw the Arquitens show up in Rebels. So many of those ships were probably leftover from the Clone Wars, why wouldn't they still be used to patrol and secure areas where a full Star Destroyer is unnecessary? Plus, it's easier on the design team for Rebels to not have to create a whole new light cruiser, much as Im' sure we'd be fine seeing one.

Did you know?

The arquiten is actually crewed by imperial cats

And its real name is the Arkittens

But the rebellion didnt want people knowing that hera sawed an entire compliment of space faring cat babies with an experimental weapon, hence the name we now know it by

Read the first post if you can't understand.

Don't take this the wrong way, but yeah that is a bit thin-skinned. it wasn't being used to insult you or members of your faith, and other users are by no means required to show your preferred deity any respect. This is especially true when the language is being auto-censored by the message board software.

That said, I'm annoyed by it too, but that's because it's being used to hype something up that isn't really interesting enough to justify the foul language.

Wow, this jumped the tracks quick!

I quite like the Arquitens actually. It fills the role of an Imperial light cruiser very well, where before the universe was populated by a myriad array of Star Destroyers with the occasional legends-recolored Nebulon-B.

While the design is old from the Clone Wars, I can rationalize the Imperial Navy choosing young classes and limited production units to refurbish for production and phase out all the local defense ships. ARQs are cheaper and easier to field than full Star Destroyers, but still provide the gunship mission.

I'd like to own a couple, maybe even three. Gives me that ranged punching that the Imperial Navy is sorely lacking at the moment, only found on expensive and inefficient VSDs and the fleet queen of the ISD.

Clearly you are. It was even partially censored. Grow up.

Isnt the CR90 a clone wars era ship? Same as the Gozanti Carriers? I believe Victory Class Star Destroyers were Clone Wars era too.

Define "Clone Wars Era".

Whats next? Will you be offended if I use capital A? It seems to me, people are seeking the opportunities to get offended. Seriously, like last year an outrage about red cups used by Starbucks... What is this world becoming??? Cry babies. You know what? Get offended, I dont care, youll find a reason anyway.

As the OP used that term initially along with the term "rebellion era" I would defer that specific question towards to him/her.

First off I'm not offended by much. I am in the U.S. Army have two children who play and collect with me and pray everytime I deploy or go into the field. I didn't jump down your throat or call you names I asked you and the forum for a courtesy to not use the "GD" word to describe a miniature. I'm glad some of you could give two flips about religion and that's fine I just asked for a little respect about it. The fact you and some others are defending your actions proves that common decency is lacking here. Glad I can count on fellow members to show they can be a bigger person and set an example. Oh wait I guess I cant.

If something bothers you, you can hit the report button. You can also ignore it. Also shouldn't claim you don't get offended easily, then contradict yourself by telling someone how they used a phrase you don't like. Freedom of religion, and freedom from religion. I understand your point of view, my extended family is very religious, but you cannot claim that every usage of the word "god/God" refers to only your specific deity, or someone is taking his name in vain.

What's your problem? Why are you being so toxic? Get over yourself. No one cares if you don't care if you offend someone. This isn't helpful in building the community.

I think the people who feel the need to use swear words in every sentence to give it false importance need to grow up. When people use curse words to get across a point they are using the more ID part of their brain which is the immature side. Yes there is a time and place for curse words but using it every time shows a lack of respect not only for the readers but also for our English language.

And this is coming from someone who uses swear words regularly, but I do understand there is a time and place where it is appropriate and a place when it is just childish. We can be adults here especially since the OP didn't appear mad or really upset about the topic.

(In the adult world using curse words without purpose only earnes you disrespect, it's not cool nor does it give you any Power. That is a kid's mindset and why teenagers use them like they're a punctuation, they are just ignorant to what they are doing. But as adults we should and do know better. Now if you want to talk about the Demolisher by all means swear up a storm. :P )

Also here's a little English lesson for everyone. Everyone has the right to be offended by Swear words because the purpose of swear words is to be offensive! They are absolutely attack words meant for times when one wants to express anger or aggression towards a topic or person. So the idea that people need not to be offended is the idea of blaming the victim of feeling attacked when they were attacked.

Swear words are Not just normal adjectives and they do carry a weight of aggression, that is their exact purpose and to deny that shows a lack of understanding of what's the purpose of swear words.

Well said, I work on the don't get offended unless it's about hatred, bigotry, lies aimed at damaging an individual, personal attack or incitement to violence. Other than that I thank the fact I live in a western democracy and can think and say what I like. So shall we all shake hands and accept we all have a view point that we can express.
