Assymetrical Bots

By BothanPride, in X-Wing Squad Lists

So i have been really getting an itch to play some bro bots. So here is a list that I have created that i think might be fun, maybe even competitive. please offer up any advice you may have!

IG-88C + Fearlessness + Accuracy Corrector + Autoblaster + Seismic Charges + Inertial Dampeners + Autothrusters + IG-2000

IG-88B + Crack Shot + Fire-Control System + Heavy Laser Cannon + Glitterstim + Autothrusters + IG-2000

Assymetrical list, B stays to the outside and C rushes in for the knife fight. I am questioning fearlessness as it is hard to pull off consistently, but awesome when it happens. I have also considered trying to find room for sensor jammer on C, or upgrading to a nastier bomb. lastly, with C's whole purpose being getting in close, is there something better than AT? they are really only there for approach and when I have to change tactics and stay at range 3.....and well TLT's ARE becoming a thing again.

Thoughts?

I don't play brobots so maybe i'm wrong, but it seems to me that AC is a waste when you already have a gunner-like effect with IG-88B that is transfered to IG-88C. what's more, at range 1 you have the potential to do much more than only 2 damage, especially with FCS instead, and that saves you 1 points.

Something you can do with Accuracy Corrector and Autoblaster with IG-88B on the board: roll your Autoblaster attack. If it is 0, 1, or 2 hits, use the Accuracy Corrector to cancel your dice, then opt to NOT add 2 hits. You miss, so you get to make another Autoblaster attack. If it is 3 hits, great! If not, then you can use Accuracy Corrector to get 2 hits.

Darth,

you make some valid points. i have also realized that C wont really capitalize off of B's ability anyway. so accuracy corrector was there so that it ensured 2 hits instead of 1, and it makes him independent if B goes down first.

From experience, IGs are not designed to be knife fighters. If you feel the need to do so, however, I'd highly recommend Adv. Sensors over AC. You want/need actions to stay alive.

I agree, The more i try to play test knife fighting/bombs I end wishing i had the standard HLC,Glitter, FCS, Crack, AT, Title list. I think this is a lost cause. I also dont like lackluster attacking becomes without the FCS.

At PS6, you will not be dictating the range, and the ships you can get range 1 of are ships like Party Bus, and Lothals that dont have high agility, so its better to use primary and fearlessness. To capitalize on autoblaster against aces, I would drop the seismics and dampners and go with an ion turret. With B double tapping HLC, and C double tapping Ion turret, you can ion the squirrely ace bugger, then boost in next round with Autoblaster.

A buddy of mine did auto-bots for awhile when I was running a lot of aces. That was awhile ago though. I still think HLC is better most of the time as the 4 dice at range 2 with FCS (and glimmer/crack/both) still melts about anything you get in arc.
