Make the cardboard POP!
This is cool. Neat trick. Thanks for posting.
My counters will now have spirit fingers and be fabulous.
If the colors are too much for ya the black still looks amazing. Makes the pieces look like plastic instead of cardboard
Make sure to buy the slim ones. Not the extra slim!
Pens with chisel tip are better, IMO.
Well the inner nerd in me is very very very slightly annoyed that the TIE bomber should have a blue glow on the engines, and the K-wing a red glow, But the artist in me is very happy with this either way, they aren't my ships, dress them anyway you want! Also neat idea with the tokens, seen this floating around the internet a bit. simple solution, really makes them POP, like you said.

Lol my bad. For simplicity I just made all the rebel engines blue and all the imp engines red
Yeah, I did all of my ship bases and asteroids/debris and bombs/mines in black a while back. They look great. I did a bunch of stress tokens in red, and a bunch of focus and evades in green, and of course the TLs red and blue. They look so much better on the table than just the cardboard color.
For lighter colors, I found that if I paint a white base first, the color will be more vibrant.
I really wish I had done my cloak token and Conner Nets in blue, though. Those look amazing.
I have done the same thing but only in black one everything. inc and manoeuvre dials and pilots cardboard things (dont know the real name for them)

yeap was wondering about that
I like painting over the back side of the target lock tokens so that they've only got one side with a letter showing. I've lost count of the number of times that I've struggled to find a matching pair of of locks because I keep looking at the wrong sides of a pair.
Looks fantastic.
Looks cool, I have all of the edges of my tokens, ship cardboard, templates etc. coloured bright white for easy recognition of my gear.
May have to recommend this idea to any of the others that wish to colour there cardboard bits.
I did the same for easy recognition. Token edges in green and green card sleeves.
I did that too, once.
If you give e a few coats the will withstand liquid exposure (spilled MtDew) better. Seals up the edges. Side note: The tokens even sound different after painting. When hitting a table or bumping/stacking together like poker chips. Literally pop .
