Am I correct that H1 does not have line of sight with M in this example? Assume the perimeter is walls.

Line of sight
Sorry, the walls shifted in posting.
The idea is that there is a clear path from H1 to M, yet no LOS. If this is simply a counter-intuitive rule, that's fine. I just want to know.
My interpretation has been: H2 is a figure and preventing a line along the left side of the tile, and the ride side of the tile is a wall which would also prevent a line.
You are forgetting Los can be measured diagonally. H1 has Los from either bottom corner to the opposite top corner of M. For instance from the bottom left corner of H1 to the top right corner of M.
Check my LOS guide (link in my signature) if you'd like to learn more. ProtoPersona has got it correct.
Look closer. The line you suggested is incorrect. H1 is two spaces up from M. A diagonal line will miss. The diagonal line you are suggesting is not corner to corner.

Either I'm viewing your diagram wrong, or you're misunderstanding what we mean by diagonal. I've made a new diagram- if it doesn't match yours, please let me know. The first (left) panel is your original situation. Each of the panels to the right shows a valid way to draw LOS from H1 to M.

Thanks. Your diagram is correct. We disagree on diagonal. Where does the rule say diagonal lines can cut through the side of a tile? I thought diagonal lines had to cut through corners.
Rule book page 12,
"In order for a figure to have line of sight to a space, a player must be able
to trace an uninterrupted, straight line from any corner of that figure’s
space to any corner of the target space."
They don't say the line should only pass through corners.. but only use the start corner and the end corner.
but you have a good example p.14 with a ranged attack.
Thank you! I have seen the error of my ways.

Glad we could help. I do recommend checking out my LOS guide. I'm a bit biased, but I think it is a solid instruction on determining range and LOS, especially in some of the weirder cases.

You are biased ... ![]()
But it is a good bias, and it is an excellent document.
