With the addition of Lightsaber Hilt crafting in Endless Vigil you can now build pretty much anything that you want to (safe for vehicles I guess).

I've been playing a Gank Cyber Tech after we switched Game Masters in my group yet again, and have been having a blast.

Planning to utilize the crafting systems extensively I maxed out Mechanics pretty quick and thought to myself:

It would be so cool if I could throw FIRE FROM MY HANDS.

I look around and see that the Flame Projector has an encumberance of 6. But the Inbuilt Weapon option from crafted Cybernetics only allows for weapons of encumberance of 2 or less.

Kinda bummed out I only realised later: What if I build the Flamethrower myself as well, an use the boni to reduce the encumberance to where I need it!?

What are your fun / cool / powerful solutions for crafted Items?

If your implant allows weapons with attachments you could go with a DDC-MR6 Modular Rifle with Stripped Down and Under-Barrel Flame Projector. That would give you not only a Flamethrower in your arm, but a decent blaster as well. (base damage 7, medium range) All of this stuff should be in the Special Modifications book.

I am trying to get my GM to let my Droid tech build a Tatchikoma from Ghost in the Shell. A silhouette 2 combat droid with a hidden compartment/cockpit for me to ride in. Equipped with a rope launcher and either a small cannon or couple of blasters.

You could use the All Terrain Personal Transport walker (page 252 of Edge of the Empire) as a stat template. Generally the GM should allow you to use any existing item/vehicle in the game and simply say it looks different. Ask them if you can replace the grenade launcher with the electromagnetic harpoon listed on the T-47 airspeeder (page 263 of Age of Rebellion), this should count as a 0 hardpoint vehicle modification. (The harpoon just isn't in the weapon list, but its official stat block is available on the speeder)
