Lol I had given up on seeing them

Difficult to tell. The Upsilon I'm definitely getting one of, and if its dial is not abominably poor I might get more; 3 upsilons genuinely feels like it might be a strong list if the dial doesn't suck. The thing's going to be a nightmare to store and transport though.

The Quadjumper I want one of, but probably not more. I struggle to see how 2-2-4-0 is going to be a viable statline except as a giant troll ship. Unkar does fit that mould nicely though...

The Rebel TIE I've no interest in. The EMP is nice, but not nice enough to spend a tenner on when I don't play Rebels.

The U Wing could be a lot of fun but again, doesn't have a lot of non-Rebel stuff. It might persuade me to expand my arsenal into Rebel territory though...

The Striker is the one I'm least sure about. It really could go either way for me. 3-2-4-0 is an iffy stat line but if it's cheap enough, particularly if the elite generic is cheap enough, it might be worth it. I'll definitely pick up one though, because the Duchess looks brilliant and is super cheap. PS10 3 attack for 24 points. Yes please.

U-Wing and Upsilon.

The U-Wing will have a lot of nice crew and tools (as I primarily fly Rebels), the Upsilon is to complete my Omega based First Order list.

I haven't seen the killer upgrade, yet. Get what interests you. The tech from the Upsilon seems fun to enable Comms Relay T-70s with Juke. Rebel TIE is an interesting one of.

1 Shuttle
1 TIE

1 U wing

1 Quadjumper

2 Strikers

Reason:

Only ever buy one of the large ships. one Quadjumper because it will be a niche ship, not good to spam. One TIE because I don't think I will ever use more than one. If I do, I will simply use one of the millions (AND MILLIONS) of TIE Fighter models I have available to me. Two Strikers because they may be a decent cheap three attack filler ship.

0 Shuttle : way too ugly

0 Striker/Uwing : only until I see the movie and decide if those are proper SW material or not
0 Quadjumper : I don't play Scum
0 Rainbow TIE :

See that's why people like deadpool, he knows the good from the bad.

Assuming that you have 2 TIE fighters already, it looks like there is no reason to buy more than 2 of the Rebel TIEs. Having 2 of them will allow you field all 4 pilots in the same squad. If you want to fly Zeb and Sabine or Ashoka and Rex in the same squad you'll need two because those pilots share bases.

Two rebel /ln TIEs and one of everything else.

Sabine's TIE is a weird choice for an expansion. I dont get why everything is unique, as in everything in that pack is unique not just the title/mod.

There is literally 0 reason to get more than 2, and youre only getting the 2nd for the 2nd cardboard base template lol. No generics, no nonunique cards. Why would they put out a kit that is impossible to make more than 30USD on per player no matter what happens in the future?

Upsilon Shuttle...im having issues with it. I really liked the preview but its just a hair too expensive to use as a proper support ship unless youre using the budget aces only (inquis/OL). Cant get any of the normal aces or Defenders in there and still have points for anything other than a random TIE. The 3 UPS list is definitely going to be a thing, even if its dial is just as bad as the lambda (doubtful), but im not sure if i want 3 of them lol. And until i see its dial i dont feel comfortable making it the primary ship in my lists.

Rest we still need spoilers on. We know from the price the tugboat and striker are cheap and spammable, so i got 3 strikers preordered lol

The EMP isn't unique, but you're otherwise right. I can't see it being a good seller, even though Rebels stuff usually is I think.

The Oopsie isn't just a support ship. It's a gunship. It has four dice and can mount an FCS, and it will have to have a godawful dial to not be good at that job as a result (though, you could make the same argument I suppose about putting FCS and HLC on a Lambda, and no-one does that...).

...

Well colour me surprised. Here I was wondering about builds using two of them.

Yeah that's a really weird choice.

Based on almost no facts, currently:

Upsilon Shuttle

1 = they won't run cheap point-wise like the lambda shuttles, so no doubles here

Sabine's TIE

1 = for sure and I can run a pair of them using another standard model

2 = if I want to splurge and run 3 of them in the same list, but I really don't think so?

Quadjumper

1 = if it sux

2 = most likely

3 = if I want to splurge but I don't think so. I ended up selling my 3rd TIE Punisher since I never flew any worthy gimmick squad

U-Wing

1 = if it's filled with uniques upgrades only, like the YT-2400

2 = If I want to splurge and a funky gimmick squad is found by someone

TIE Strikers

2 = if it could complement a solid < 40 point squad block

3 = if it ends up being a good choice for a decimator/Upsilon escort block

4 = if I want to splurge and they can accompany stuff like Omega Leader

I'm getting 8 rebel ties and just going to use them as my Imperial ties.

Just putting in a preorder for wave 10 ships and was wondering what numbers to order?

1shuttle

1 rebel tie

2 tie strikers

1 jump master

2 u wing

0x Upsilon Shuttle

0x Rebel TIE

1x Quadjumper

2x TIE Strikers

1x U-Wing

There ya go!

As many as it takes to fill a 100 points squad with anything remotely swarm-worthy (QJ, Strikers).

I'm thinking 2 each of the Upsilon, U-Wing and Sabine's TIE, but that might change.

I do not use to buy scum, so I won't but the quadjumper at all.

I'll probably buy 1x of the kylo ren's shuttle, because the miniature is great.

1x of u-wing for sure. The second only if the cards and the dial will be very good.

1x of the sabine's tie fighter.

No idea about the striker. It just seems another tie... So, if it will have an incredible dial, similar to the interceptor one, maybe I'll get 2. Even if, 1 is ok.

Seems like the biggest reason to get more than one Upsilon will be be if you want to pull Hyperwave Comm Scanner shenanigans.

Two Uplisons and a pair of Quadjumpers will get 6 Hyperwave Comm Scanners which should probably cover most squads.

To answer the OP's question of how many are needed, I would say none.

But how many do you want.

  • Quad Jumper: If I was young again and played with my toys in a sand box I'd get the Quad Jump as a freighter/tug. Absolutely looks fun to play with; but to field in the game other than as a prop for a mission? I'll pass. I don't like playing freighters and tugs as fighters. That's just me.
  • Bat-Wing: It looks awesome. I wish the Lambda had the coordinate action. But I'm not thrilled with the new mechanic. Maybe I can get it and put it on display? So probably not.
  • U-Wing: It depends on the story line but probably not. I like the set I have now and my storage is limited. We haven't seen the movie yet but I thought it was/is to be a troop transport. But it will have to fly and fight with the best fighters to keep up in this game. So no; see the Quad Jumper above.
  • TIE Striker: We'll see. it depends on the store line but if I had to commit right now I would say no.
  • Sabines TIE: I liked the episode. Honestly I did, a little bit of humor, Tarkin responded well. Nevertheless I'm not impressed with giving Imperial ships to the rebellion other than for a mission setup or goal. I can see the argument for giving X-Wings and astromechs to the Imperials. I wonder how Howl Runner would do in an X-Wing. As I said for a mission sure, but in regular game play. No thanks.

I only play casual now and have kinda of set a limit on my storage capacity so this is now, after all this, influencing my purchases too. I got into this because of the Star Wars theme and then played the game. I'd like to get back to the Star Wars theme and not necessarily the most competitive build or latest build space. Again, that is just me.

Game on

Rebel TIE - I have no desire to run two of those simultaneously, though I may buy a second and piecemeal sell everything in it but the square cardboard ship chips just in case it turns out to be awesome. If X58 includes components for a Rebel TIE with Jun as a pilot, I'd be stoked!

(1)

Upsilon Shuttle - This beast is calling to me, and while I'm not immediately drawn towards multiples, if they prove to be awesome in a formation, I would be surprised if I buy an extra for the additional upgrades, anyway.

(1)

Quadjumper - Unless Space Tractor turns out to be awesome, and Scavenger Claw is really useful, I will stick with one.

(1)

U-Wing - I like the 3244 stat line for ~20 point generic ships, so I'll probable pick up two of these ships. The unique crew and pilot abilities are enticing. Just as before, if these turn out to be great, then I'll grab one or two additional packs.

(2)

TIE Striker - The inverted power and agility on these cheap ships is right up my alley. I'm already dead set on getting five and communist running them until I create a list that works. I also love five ship swarms.

(5)

Upsilon, if only for the Snap Shot and the Tech. Though the crew has some nice options and Lt Dormouse should make for fun shenanigans.

1 of each as usual.

But based on loving TIEs and the points of the PS8 Duchess, I want at least 4 Strikers. Maybe 5 based on their points.
