How to store and lug cards and tokens? FFG deck boxes?

By dewbie420, in Arkham Horror: The Card Game

Has anyone tried these deck boxes from FFG?

ffs56_main.png

Just picked up my first core set... and I haven't popped my tokens yet so I'm not sure if the that "detachable box for tokens" would be big enough. So far I plan on keeping the cards sorted in zip bags and tokens in a chaos bag...ALL in the original box. I'm not sure if I'm gonna sleeve 'em all yet. I'll wait until I get a few expansions down the road.

Anyone have one of these boxes that could go cram as many tokens as possible and then let me know... just to help me shop for storage solutions? Any suggestions? :D

If I'm a true card gamer I should try and store all my stuff properly haha but I'm like "Just long as it fits and artwork and effects are in tact don't care." Haha I only have sleeves for my competitive games

I ordered the sleeves holder from Broken token, along with the "short" token holder that fits inside that box PLUS a pack of extra dividers.

My friend is crazy for broken token, so ive gotten to see how well made it is. The token box will hold all needed tokens and then some. This core box "should" be good enough to hold core decks/missions plus the first cycle.

Like LOTR I plan to get the large case they sell. The artist box with dividers.

That deck box is more of something youd want for a completive card game OR if your buddy is brining all the missions etc for Arkham, then it works as you just need a deck. (But at that point id buy a cheap 3 dollar deck box and not that big one)

The token boxes won't be able to hold much more than your resources, wounds, and horror. Chaos tokens might also fit alongside your investigator deck, but that means no space for a scenario.

Someone on Facebook postet a pic of these so I ordered two:

That particular organizer won't fit the Arkham Horror LCG box. It was designed for older LCGs that had bigger core boxes.

The guy one facebook is using that one and it fits perfectly. Strange.

I don't know what to tell you. That exact model that you linked is too tall for the AHLCG box.

Length Width Depth
11.255" 11.256" 2.605"

He is using a Netrunner box, just re-checked. ****.

I can't comment on the FFG deck boxes and token storage, but for scenario storage I've found Ultra-Pro's 'Pro-Dual 180' deck boxes are the perfect size to fit all scenarios for a deluxe box and a full cycle of APs (unsleeved). Assuming AH will feature a similar number of cards, I would thoroughly recommend trying those once we have more packs out.

There is a compact version for smaller games like Arkham Horror LCG and the 2nd Edition of Game of Thrones:

That fits perfectly. If you're cool with a different company's product, there is one I'd arguably say is better by Go7Gaming.

That one stores the cards completely upright, instead of at an angle, so you can squeeze more into a box. I own two of the Broken Token ones for a Game of Thrones 2nd Edition and like them, but I do wish I saw the Go7Gaming ones before I made my purchase, I probably would have gone for them instead.

By the way, I have one of these that I crammed the game into (minus the books) to take with me while I was traveling for work. It is designed to hold two 100 card premium sleeved decks and tokens/dice. I currently have one entire core set stored in premium sleeves and all the tokens in it in individual bags, since I'm traveling for work, I wanted to bring this game with me across country and a few plane rides without fear of damage. Working like a charm so far. I do have the heart tokens laid atop a deck, instead of crammed in with everything else, but the magnetic closure works fine and there is no bulk or damage to cards/sleeves/tokens/case. If you don't sleeve you could probably use this set through most of the dunwich legacy cycle holding everything. If you do sleeve, it could be a nice holder for several player decks and/or scenarios + the tokens. Would actually be pretty great if you know what scenarios you are going to play and bring 2-3 investigator decks plus the cards necessary for the scenario.

You can still find them at some places online, called Elder Dragon Vaults by Legion Supplies - designed originally for MTG EDH decks.

Well crap. I missed he got the new version for LCGs and ordered it on amazon...the old one. Soooo hoping I have a old LCG box to store this in now...

My system is somewhat disjoint, but...

Token Box - holds everything but the Chaos Tokens, which go in a bag. Compact, durable, and organized

Player Decks I carry in standard deck boxes, and store cards in the usual long boxes.

I found with LOTR that a 400-count cardboard box is perfect for holding all the encounter decks for a cycle - all 9 scenarios. I keep them sleeved with large sleeves, though.

My main problem with organizers like Broken Token is that for an LCG, it's going to be limited. You WILL run out of space as the game grows. It's also not great for taking just what you need - when we play for a night I take the tokens, player deck, and just the cycle we're playing.

Those really look a bit better than Broken Token, but they don't have resellers in Europe yet ....

Just ordered my Go7 gaming one, cost a lot, but hope it will work well for a while.

Ordered the compact Broken Token version. Wolfien8, plz share screenshots once you get the go7gaming :D

For now I'm using an UltraPro deck box for the active quest plus deck, keep the remaining cards in ziploc in tbe core box, and put the tokens (actually, Dragon Shield counters for most of mine) in a dice bag.

Eventually I'll go the same route I did for LotR, which was a Hobby Lobby artist supply box with the go7gaming ASB-001 insert.

Only a Cthulhu bag could properly hold the chaos tokens.

I've been collecting card games for years so I have a number of deck cases/boxes to store stuff in but I put a number of the plain, mono-colored ones aside for later installments/scenarios. With larger scenarios (looking at the deluxe expansions), I put one of the larger deck cases/boxes (100+ variety) aside. A typical small plano box holds tokens.

Edit: I'll add that the mono-colored one are also pretty cheap (like 1.50 or 2.00) so they work very well with single scenarios or a character deck.

For about $8 or $9 you can also get the Ultra Pro 4 compartment card box. Pretty cheap option that should be able to hold the entire core set and tokens.

I like the Ultra Pro deck boxes (color coded for sphere) and the Ultra Pro gaming case. it's compact, portable, and sleek. Keeping cards in the original box or one of the big wooden boxes looks nice but not very portable. Also, it's not that expensive. Maybe $40 for the boxes plus case.

I'm using one of those cardboxes you get from a MTG fat pack. It holds all the (sleeved) cards and the tokens in two zip lock baggies.

I miss Card Coffins.

I'm planning on using this:

http://www.hobbylobby.com/Art-Supplies/Storage-Organization/Storage/Black-All-Media-Artists-Supply-Sketch-Box/p/80771724

Best part about it, broken token makes an insert for it:

http://www.thebrokentoken.com/standard-sized-card-organizer-for-wooden-artist-case/

(the part number they call out is for the lighter wood version of the case)

It's coming tomorrow. I'm going to replace the handle and latches with better ones and take out the top drawer thing. I'm also planning on covering it with elder sign themed vinyl graphics. Will update when I get it all together.

Hmmmm BrokenToken isn't selling their artist cases to resellers in Germany, but if I could get an artist case with the same exact measurements ... hm ...

Ultra Pro's Tower Deck Boxes seem pretty nifty. Top compartment holds over 100 sleeved cards, lower one holds 80 sleeved cards or tokens and dice, plus the front flap looks like it can hold at least 10 sleeved cards.
