General Tagge....you're FIRED

By Gottmituns205, in Star Wars: Armada

I think the Arquitens will be Tagge's ship of choice in the future.

Yeah its got defensive retro and only one evade so lots of uses for Tagge there.

At present Ive only found him useful on the ISD2. Everything else gets killed before it can burn its defence tokens.

I still can't work out whether the number of games where Tagge shines is worth the fact he dictates the pace of the first two rounds.

To get the first defence token back you need to be aggressive and fly hard- this does work well against some lists, but against some of the others, it can be catastrophic.

My current feelings are along the lines of Motti will always help,Tagge gives better rewards the better you play with him.

Which, lets be honest, is hardly groundbreaking thinking!

ISD II Devastator, TRC, Needa, LS, ECM, Tagge. Then fill in enough Glads to scare your opponent. I see Glads as the only Imp ship that needs to use all of its defense tokens to stay alive, so Tagge pairs perfectly with it. Plus they have some good AA so you can go light on the fighters for everyone who hates using squads.

So naivete, and no imagination. I love playing people that say things like this.

Tagge is both a hard counter to how I always played my Demsu list and at the same time a great leader for my demsu list.....

My muscle bound demo ( inte officer equiped) almost always launched his attack last activation round two, finishing its attack on first activation round three, now I always counted on the other guy only getting one brace, now he gets two. What's even worse is that demo would start the attack on his next victim last activation round four, finishing round five, so again the victim now gets two braces.........

As for Tagge helping, my nasty little glads hate bombers especially when they are on their predictable ( ish) attack runs sgainst flag ships/big boys, so Tagge gives an option to burn my brace and divert with abandon in rounds 2 and 4 (which is when I tend to put a lot of my ships in harms way) would I change out ozzel, maybe not, but I can see how he would help Demsu in a bomber heavy meta. Would I hate to see him on the other side of the table to my DMSU, yes as he may just be the nastiest leader to play against when you love Intel office demo/glads.

What's so special about Jerjodd

ISD + Tagge + Captain Needa + Turbolaser Reroute Circuits + Devastator = Great fun. If you time it right, your second shot on turn two or four can be awesome - use the evade on an opponent's attack, burn it on shot one to make use of the TRCs, and then add in the extra blue dice for Devastator on the second attack. Get it back the following turn and go again.

I'm a bit in love with Tagge.

Sorry, only spotted this after posting. Got a bit overexcited.

I'm a bit in love with Tagge.

Tagge may be huge with the arty whateverthehell light cruiser sporting TLRCS and only ONE STINKING EVADE apart from Needa

Work in progress, but this is a great list to play. Flotillas burn scatters against squadrons. (Imperial mothma anyone?) As others have said Devestator becomes great fun. Keep bringing the brace token back to get max use out of it.

Drive your Suppressor Slicer straight into enemy at speed 3, blow the scatter with impunity on turn 2 & 3. Fly out the other side... (sometimes)

I would fly that list at regionals

If i owned an isd, two more gozanti, another imp squad pack and corillean campaign..

Well it looks like you've written your Christmas list.....

Would have preferred:

While a friendly ship is defending, it may spend a defense token even if an effect would block the use of that token. If a token is spent in this way that token is discarded.

Would have been thematic to the flotillas guaranteeing it's scatter gets used, but then also providing a quasi ecm effect to ships that can't take ecm's, which is nearly the entire imperial fleet... the discard effect should keep it in balance I think....

Maybe something along these lines

Might be fun to try

ha you almost read my mind with that last list. Except no sqns and more stuff on the ISDs.

Yep I could see ditching squads for another goz, or more upgrades for isds...

I've always felt Tagge and Vader need a few more releases to be where I want to play them.

I'm a big Devastator fan, and I've been toying with this as a possibility. I think you should toss SW-7s in there if you can, it makes a big difference when shooting at distant ships with the full battery.

I've always felt Tagge and Vader need a few more releases to be where I want to play them.

The Arquitens says hi.

This. The Arquitens is gonna be great for both. I for one am rolling with at least 3 plus Vader.

Tagg will see more love come wave 5, and the Imperial light cruiser, with TRCs running in a swarm with flotillas.

Speaking of that, anyone else nauseous that TRCs didn't come in the light cruiser pack?

Seriously **** move by FFG.

Oh, hush. They'll end up as a Tournament Prize sometime this year, and then you'll have more than you ever dreamed.

How do we know this yet? It hasn't been spoiled.
