So is this Horton build worth it?
Y-Wing: •Horton Salm (32)
Twin Laser Turret (6)
•R2-D6 (1)
Trick Shot (0)
32 points will give a very consistent TLT shot and even encourage hiding behind obstacles.

Pretty sure Trick Shot is primary only.

Worth it for fun? Sure! The man has a terrific mustache and really deserves an EPT. Vectored Thrusters can be nice on him to, as you are fairly high PS, want to get out of the donut hole, and don't gain as much from focus or TL.
Worth it for competitive play... well, I haven't heard of any named rebel y-wings succeeding in tournaments lately.
32 point y-wing's are never worth it, don't pump points into one agility small ships.

AFAIK trick shot is for any attack. Just says 'when attacking'.
I'm not convinced that Trick Shot is the best combo with TLT. You generally have enough dice with a 3 dice secondary to get hits through anyway - especially with Horton.
Not sure about Trick shot, but Horton is always fun. Re-rolls galore!
I've been happy with Trick Shot and TLT. Of course I've been running it on ships that aren't paying a point to get an EPT slot. For free it's great. For one point, I'm not so sure.
Another one I like on TLT Horton is Wired. Pick up a stress somehow (anyhow) and keep it, giving you effectively full Target Locks on both attacks as well as a potential re-roll on defense.

I have been running Wired on Rey for the same reason and it is working splendidly.
There is a local guy named Blake that's been doing well in the tournament scene. He flew a 32 pt-ish Horton in a very tough list. It was Nera Dantiels w/ Proton Torpedoes, EM, Marksman, and GC. Then, there was Dutch and Horton with TLT's and some other things. It was a nasty list as they all flew together. Dutch gave Nera the TL, who also did Marksman. Both Y-wings would fire the TLT's. It was pretty brutal to whatever got in range of it.
I think it all depends on what else you have in the list and how it flies.
Horton is always worth it. I think it could work well
I always put as much on Horton as I can and it has worked out very well for me many times

That aren't named Miranda*
I tried TLT with Trick shot on a Y-Wing in a couple of games last night. It probably triggered once per game for minimal advantage so I would have been better off with R2 or R4-D6. I don't really think it is worth building towards using Trick Shot, but if you have a with an EPT and 0 points to burn it could be worth a try instead of Adaptability.

Funny thing she can't regen when you kill her in one turn.
if only Horten had an EPT slot i would use him so much more.....
Never be scared of BTL-A4:
Horton (25)
BTL-A4 (0)
TLT (6)
R3 (2)
33 points of either surprising efficiency or disappointing mediocrity. R3 gets so much (fairly deserved) hate, but this build (FLOWN WELL) can bea pain for your opponent. Been hit and miss for me so far.
Horton is a fine pilot, too bad he has no EpT...
Anyway, I like to play him with TLT, Vectored Thrusters and R5-P9, since your offense is generally quite good enough with his ability to generally not really need the focus.

I believe R2-D6 is custom built for Horton. I've thought about this before, though. What EPT would you use on him that would make him so amazing? The best answer I can come up with is Veteran Instincts to pump him to PS 10. What else does he need, really?
As I stated before, I think TLT's are great on Horton. I wouldn't go with the title as I think what's best about Horton is him floating in the back and dishing out damage while there is a much bigger threat on the table. He can reliably do damage with those TLT's.
Whenever I play Epic or some crazy mission with Y-wings on a bombing run, I always go for Horton. He's dished out some damage with his Torpedoes. Proton Torpedoes and Guidance Chip are crazy good on Horton.
Veteran Instincts is nice. Marksmanship can work - giving you focus on both attacks - or Wired.
I do like the prospects of Horton with R3, he might be the only pilot that can consistently use the ability. He will shoot before a lot of ships, and having two rolls to get the focus gives him a decent opportunity to get an evade and actually use it, where the other TLT-Ys will shoot too late. I think it is time for more Y-wing pilots and a Y-only mod for an EPT on any pilot PS5 and up.
If you're running Horton with R2-D6, I think Marksmanship is the best EPT for him to use. With his ability, Marksmanship allows both of your TLT shots to be fully modified. You're almost guaranteed to hit whatever you're shooting at each round.
Another version I've been trying uses TLT, R5-P9 and a Shield upgrade.

R3 only works on primary's.

I'm not advocating spending 33 Points on a Y wing, because that's terrible. But IF you were going to, Horton with Wired in incrediblY accurate with those TLTs.

Yeah...
It's a shame that the primary attack comes before the TLT attacks with the title. If the attacks happened in the other order then Horton with TLT+BTL-A4 might be the one place that R3 isn't horrible. Even if he took a focus action, the odds of him having still having it by the time he gets to the third attack are pretty low and his ability can't reroll eyeballs so you might as well cancel a die and get an evade token. Horton is even high enough PS that there are usually ships shooting after him.
As it is, Horton would need to cancel an eyeball on the first of the three attack rolls without knowing if he'll need to spend the token later.
