Thinking of this...

By chriscook, in Star Wars: Armada Fleet Builds

3 MC30s loaded up, 2 with H9 to hunt floats, 2 GR 75's- one as the command ship. 6 awings to tie down bombers.

-How would this do vs a yavaris/ y-wing or superfriends build and Rymerballs? Are 6 awings enough to tie them down till I get the mcs out of there.

I plan on losing 1 mc30 and most squads, if not all of them.

Thanks!

Depends on the particular variation of the ryhmer ball but should be fine as long as you spread the a wings out

MC30's are great. What is your actual list look like? You want at least 1 MC30 able to take some hits, especially if you are end up without initiative. What coommander do you plan on using? I'd suggest Madine or Cracken for maximum maneuver/survivability.

Sorry guys, going with Mothma, Forsight and Abdo.

No that's good too! I like Lady Moth. Abdo...is that a mistype of Lando or Admonition?

I played with 3 MC30, one with foresight, one with Admonition, and the last with lando and they were reliable and deceptively hard to down.

One thing I learned after a lot of split games running this fleet, where because of the offense/defensive balance of this build the enemy turtled and ran away, that you put lando on a scout and ram it at max speed right down their throat as the bait boat, and then slam them with the other 2 and hope that Lando can wreck the big arc shot from whatever baddie you are tackling head on and lets you escape out the back.

Admonition

Mothma combined with the titles makes MC30's REDICULOUSLY hard to kill

I used 2 mc30s without H9 (APT, ordinance experts, one was Admonition), 2 transports (boosted coms), 2 trc90s, 5 A-wings and Tycho with Madine in a small local tourney and was 1st place. But I did lose the game against a Yavaris. I played poorly that game though.

It worked because of the 6 activations I think though. I don't think Id know how to play it well with just 4.

Don't forget to use your transport AA fire against squads. Rymer was less of an issue in games I've used that fleet than was a bunch of X-wings with a couple HWKs (I guess if the Rymer balls I faced had intel it would have been the same problem)

The objectives you choose for your list and if you are first player will make a big difference (as usual)
