Snapshot imperials!

So last night I tried a shenanigany list of snap shot imperials:

Mauler Mither/Snap Shot

Scourge/Snap Shot

Turr Phenir/Snap Shot/Autothrusters (I was most excited for this ship!)

Darth Vader/Squad Leader/X1/ATC

I figured that at PS7 snap shot is not great. You really only can hit those aces that are higher, and you want initiative in the tie. Turr with extra shots was the most fun but most underwhelming on the night. I also figured that Vader could give up an action to help out his squadmates if need. Here's how things went:

Game 1 vs Palp/Ryad/Maarek

Opponent setup in the far corner, I took the other one. He went really aggressive through a pretty tight asteroid field. Those asteroids REALLY help with Snapshot by taking out moving options! I must have fired that EPT 10 times or more on his ships. It won me the game hands down! However, I did make an early mistake and boost Turr in after his shot, which was range 2 of Ryad and blanked the defense roll. Shuttle and Maarek died after killing Turr and Scourge, then Mauler took a shot from Ryad and bit it. Vader eventually won with one health remaining. Victory!

Game 2 vs New Han and Rey/Finn (no Kanan)

Buddy was also flying a "silly" list and I deployed Turr in the middle of the board and Vader and his squadmates on the right side. Turr turned away from Han, the rest went hard for him and got him down below half health. By this time Rey had joined the fight and was starting to take damage. She's a tough one, you really have to hit her from the side to do any damage with Finn on her. I've played Dengar enough to know how, and Snap shot triggered a bunch. Not as many as game 1 because he avoided the asteroids, but enough to do a dent. As the game was winding down it was Rey with 5 health vs Vader with 1 health. I could have run and approached better but elected to K turn behind Rey. Didn't quite kill her and she got that last damage through. Turr was one-shot in this game on his first combat step too.

Game 3 vs Kanan w/phantom and Roark

Snap shot only triggered twice in this match. Roark bailed as Kanan was fast enough to move through everything. I blocked the 5k and managed to get a bump in and thats when snap shot triggered twice. This match was where Turr went awesome mode. He put damage on Kanan, got Roark single handedly, and came back to kill off the phantom that bailed out. This is the one time that I wish they were all lower pilot skill. I pulled off the win with Turr in the end, Scourge was also alive but barely. Turr was untouched.

Mauler with 3-dice snap shot: Amazeballs

Scourge with Snap Shot: Not as awesome as Mauler, but good later in the game.

Turr with Snap Shot: Super bummed he wasn't as awesome as I thought he would be. His snap shot went off once or twice all night, and actually may have hindered later movement by taking your one barrel roll for the turn earlier.

Vader helping with a focus or evade after everyone else moved: Excellent and felt necessary in this list as most of the time I was adjusting arcs with barrel rolls or boosts.

I think that Snap Shot is probably best used on much lower pilot skill ships so that you can set it up that turn. However, it worked pretty darned good on PS7's with Vader in tow! Since I've played Palp for most of the year it was strange without him and I think my next snap shot imperial list will work him in (he can actually modify the shot). Next on my list to try will also be Ryad with Snap Shot, or maybe Cannon equipped Vessery with Snap Shot for 3 attacks a turn! I've also thought about a couple Black Squadron Pilots with Snap Shot.

So what imperial snap shot lists have you been trying?

I've been wanting to slot in 2 Omega Squadron Specialists (SF) with Snap Shot and FCS to get locks before the first turn of firing, but haven't settled on the rest of the list.
